How do you feel about Dancer not being added with this expansion?

i'm kind of surprised people were still clinging on to her being a dancer.

Even before they revealed red mage at the las vegas fanfest, they played the first part of the video of them sparring and yoshida says "the job highlight of heavensward was the dragoon, for stormblood it will be the monk" and behind him was a big still shot of the two characters with monk written across it

This may be my last post on this thread depending on how the rest of it goes and how many people decide to comment in a manner that seems to say that I'm wrong to have my own opinion because their have an opposing opinion to mine.

There is a difference in having an opinion and fact.

No one is stating you are "wrong to have your own opinion". As you clearly took her has being a DNC and that is fine.

They are stating facts on why she was not a DNC, based on all the info and interviews since SB's announcement that have come to light and even more so now that the 2 jobs are announced.

If this helped ease your disappointment, mission accomplished. There are still future possibilities for DNC or a job similar to it.

I'm not bothered by the lack of Dancer being added simply because:

- I'm excited for both RDM and SAM
- Much like Rouge and Ninja were name dropped heavily before being added, RDM and SAM were as well
- The hints were there. They were always there.
- There was a tweet that was corrected when they announced RDM as "one of two new jobs for Stormblood." The "two" was removed.
- There's nothing saying we absolutely won't ever get Dancer.

there was literally no indication that Dancer was even being considered by the dev team.

People just hyped themselves so much for it. The fallout was inevitable.

Not bothered in the slightest. I didn't want dancer. Thought it was a pretty dull job concept. It certainly wouldn't have helped sell the expansion to new players.

I feel like Dancer and Blue Mage would be perfect for a Thavnair expansion of some sort.

I knew Dancer wouldn't happen, even it the very faint hints that it could be. But I am slightly disappointed about it nonetheless. But that is fine, maybe there will be other chances for it.

I actually kind of assumed them releasing dancer and blue mage gear as costumes was kind of there way of saying "whelp... these classes don't fit this games mechanics so here's something at least"

I want Dancer as much as anyone. Believe me. But is was actually a sigh of relief that the woman in red was not a Dancer. Two big reasons for this is 1. I don't want it to be DPS, and the introduction of two DPS jobs with the SB expansion increases the possibility that it will be a healer if released in the next expansion. And 2. It gives the devs more time to get this job right if it is indeed what they plan on releasing in the future.

If you thought the woman in red was graceful, elegant, and beautiful with her Katas, imagine what they will do with an actual Dancer. Also, the healer DPS meta of this game will allow them to incorporate a plethora of possibilities when it comes to their offense.

I just think it is too soon to introduce another healer and tank right now when they are still trying to get things right between all of them. If Dancer is ever made a playable job, I want it to be a full functioning job full of grace, elegance, and beauty. Due to the nature of dancing and the holy trinity of XIV, I can see how this can be a bit tricky but I have faith in these guys. They have done such amazing things with this game.
