Accursed Pox doesn't disappear upon death (by monster)

Monster name: Various (Mimic, POTD mobs)
Class/Level: BLM/60
Party or solo: Party
In-game time: n/a
Area and coordinates: Palace of the Dead (61-70, 71-80?)
Steps:
1. Open a chest, surprise mimic!
2. Mimic notices you and casts "Infatuation"
3. You gain the "Accursed Pox" debuff!
4. Keep the debuff because your party doesn't have a Pomander of Purity
5. Get killed by a monster
6. Accept a Resurrection spell from the party's PLD after the battle is over
7. Revive, but retain "Accursed Pox"

It's intended. Otherwise, it wouldn't be nearly as dangerous as people could just kill themselves on purpose to remove the Pox.
