I think I'll do RDM first. I like the eloquence of the rapier. I'll try both. But don't know if either will take me away from NIN.

I think she means something like the second point. But in a sense that, rather than an automatic delay of the ability they would be abilities where the time of execution is controlled by the player. The more you wait to finish the execution of the ability, the more powerful it is. It would be a bit like the Bushido ability in Final Fantasy VI.Maybe I'm misunderstanding so please clear it up for me, do you think that they'll make it so it has a charge much like warriors have stacks or charge in terms of BRD and WM? Or maybe both, using stacks to use an OGCD ability that takes time to execute..but maybe that would be a bit too much.
I'm a magic based player who loves dot's. So I've mained the summoner since launch. However, with the addition of the Red Mage, my all time favorite final fantasy class, I will most definitely being trying it out with the hopes of it becoming my new main. Will all depend on how it plays. It already has an amazing aesthetic.
I know drg and war can have high brust but Im talking about the end number. I dont mind if sam is like drg where they can here and there brust I just dont want them to be like mnk.i think it could but on different way, this is just my own personal view
monk = fast dps as in low numbers but fast like machine gun
drg = normal dps but high at burst
sam is confirm to be using something like "charge" system so maybe like a "shotgun" class, it slow at dealing damage but high in numbers
Sam maybe play more like a Ninja

I kind of like range DPS better so I will probably go with Red Mage first but I am so tempted by samurai just because its so cool

RDM hands down. I just not hyped to have another melee DPS that is another DRG in burst DPS in a way(exaggeration). I really enjoy my play style as ranged, I just feel uncomfortable close range. Last, too much slashing jobs.....needs more piercing......for debuff cause DRG is the only job that has the ability to do it.With these two dps jobs coming in the expansion I wanted to make a topic to build discussion/speculation on these two jobs. I'll keep it simple.
Since we are getting two dps jobs which one are you looking forward to the most or leveling first? Will you be maining it? Why?
Samurai all day, everyday. It was my main on FFXI along with MNK and NIN (just like FFXIV), but SAM was the 1st I'd jump on. I'll try RDM, but it isn't high on my list (not too much into mages).

Personally RDM is my ATF job from FF history, Drg being right behind it. So I'm personally going to be grinding the hell out of RDM to get it to 60 before i start the MSQ ^_^
I have been waiting for Samurai since hell 1.0 haha. I played Samurai in FFXI. I will be switching my Main from drg to sam. I will probably lvl samurai to 60 before I start doing SB stuff. So hopefully I will be able to get Samurai to 60 during the early access. All my current battle jobs are 60. so I will eventually lvl RDM as well. It def looks interesting.
