Okay, so I saw the reveals from the fan fest, and I enjoyed most of it, but I noticed something. I will add the picture later so people can see what I mean. But if you look at the image of the new primal for the Kojin, the name is incorrect. The name is Susanoo, with two O's, you can see that it says it in the Japanese Katakana. But in the English text The name just says Susano. Now, I cannot say if the last O is the honorific for King, but any sources I've seen indicate it isn't. But regardless if it is or not, please SE don't romanize the name as Susano. His name has always been romanized as Susanoo, even in your own games(Bravely Default, Mobius, etc.). It just doesn't feel right.

That does help to show that the O is probably the honorific for king, but even the Japanese text says, Great God: Susanoo, so why is the English different. Anytime his name has been romanized it's always been Susanoo: why should it be different here?

Addition: I check with a Japanese friend who said his name is Susanoo, there are two O's at the end, it's not an honorific. But each translator might translate it differently, and it might of been to avoid sounding like FOOD, though COORDINATION and OOGENESIS, woukd be pronounced the same, so I dunno.

IMO, Susano rolls off the tongue better than Susanoo, I like the name as it is

Edit: For the record, it is Susano-o, not Susanoo, which is far less of a stretch to turn into Susano.

オ isn't King, 王 would be.
It's also spelled Phonetically, so yes this seems to be one of those situation where the Japanese are getting something differently than us due to translation/localisation error.

I think Susano is a bad idea. Everyone is going to pronounce it Susan-oh. I get why they would want to avoid Susanoo (Susa-nu to most English players) but the hyphenated option is a good compromise and also makes the name look more exotic, which is kind of beneficial in context. Or they could use an apostrophe. Susano'o.

I know that long vowels are often shortened already for the English localisation but in this case it's messed up the phonetics even more than usual.

I think they can get around pronunciation problems by having a character say Susano-o's name voiced. So players can hear it and say how it's said.
