They are really going to see sub numbers suffer in this upcoming expansion unless Square decides to stop pocketing our money and give Yoshi the staff and servers he needs to make this game great to make it grow. Hearing all these 'no' answers at Live Letter and seeing what little stuff we are getting isn't doing much for my hope levels.

Since they had more budget for this expansion, the first thing you would think is that the expansion would introduce more features than the old one.

In one of the Las Vegas Live Letters it was said the Budget would be "Triple" of the Budget that was used for Heavensward.
So yes, one would assume Bloodstorm would have tons of Content. We can only assume though...

In the end maybe we have tons of Dungeons for the Main Story compared to Heavensward, more polished opened Zones that are not empty like Heavensward.

Nobody knows, only Yoshi and the FFXIV Team does and when time passes by they reveal some stuff, hopefully good stuff...

Its not about wanting more all the time. It is just... I dont know. They tell you "revamp battle system" and you think we might get rid of the gcd. And in the end its just little adjustments in cross skills and better UI for certain buffs. Thats not a revamp.

Then again, you dont want to look like 1000 other characters, cause we only have 4-5 presets of faces (for example). If they cant give sliders, give us more presets atleast. Or different ear shapes for miqotes, horns for au ra, beards for roe's...

As a veteran myself now since 2.X times and especially when you play FFXIV game consistently (without unsubscribing), you notice these things very often. And it is pretty much to say that they have to filter good feedback from bad. Someone who just drops in for few months will enjoy for sure what he gets. But someone who plays all along, will want more. And if SE doesnt want to lose their permanent subscibers, then yea.. better listen to the favors and wishes of your players.

Good stuff indeed. I just expected more features and not just QoL which are welcome don't get me wrong but still he said they are looking on how and if they will allow more gardening items and no more char customization options because it needs more data. So that to me spells they didn't really solve the server issues. Seems like a minor upgrade to only allow the extra QoL changes. Feature wise you get nothing really new. And no word about adding extra plots on the current housing areas. Adding a new one won't solve the issue that people after these years can't even buy a house despite having the money.
What exactly did we get? New areas, story and 2 new jobs. Good but not good enough for an expansion that supposed to be better in quality budget and size. HW seems that brought more features to the table. And we still don't know how large those ares will be. Just because we get a new continent on map it doesn't mean the areas will be so expansive.

"Crazy"? Are you kidding? They had *triple* the budget for this expansion, yet we are just catching up on a VERY small amount of QoL stuff. More inventory and armory space should have been done two years ago. That isn't exactly what I would call "crazy". What I call crazy is the fact that we have to pay, on top of our sub, an extra dollar a month for EACH retainer that we have to hire for extra space because they can’t implement a wardrobe system like WoW’s due to “server strain.” /That/ is crazy. Don’t you think that they should be upgrading their servers first to be able to handle that kind of thing that benefits /everyone/?

You're deliberately underplaying what in fact looks to be a massive amount of content to better fit your belief that not having been shown everything immediately means that there's nothing to be shown.

No I'm basing it off of the trend. Everyone ends up the Mor Donna Hub of the new expansion. The over world is lacking and has been. We thought we would enjoy the new zones in Heavensward but we didn't because there was nothing to do there once you could fly. I'm being realistic. I said this could change when we get more information, did I not? They could have announced, hey we have these ideas planned for content in zones but they didn't say anything. They know zones are empty after the first few months. We can only go from information we have which is nothing. If they don't change the formula, the zones will be mostly empty based off of the game's and player's pattern. I love how some areas look in the game but honestly after you complete the quests theres no reason to go back except gathering or fates for limited time events. I'm hoping they prove me wrong. I'm not saying, I'm not going to buy the expansion because I know I probably will. I'm saying I'm not impressed and that's my opinion.

@RukiaFae I couldn't agree more with what you said. It was underwhelming. They raised the bar and now they passed underneath it. I'm looking forward on exploring the new areas and story but beside that I saw nothing so much exciting. New areas/dungeons and jobs are to be expected. And even for the jobs we got less this time and no healer or tank. I'm also afraid that the new areas won't be as large as they seem on the map. They already said 50% will be in Ala Mhigo and 50% in Othard. I suspect the new maps will be HW sized at best I hope I'm wrong though.

So we only get two new jobs, no new race and on top of that not even more customization? That sooo disappointing. This was the one thing that could have made me hyped for the expansion. Some might say that we will get a whole new continent instead, yet how long will that stay new? How barren are most of the zones right now if there arent any hunts around? The main quests better be really really good to make up for this. (But still you only do them once if you have no twinks)

It would have been so nice to at least get more face options, some new tails and ears and maybe more tattoos for the whole body. They did not even need to make everything a slider..but if the only thing that we will get is new hair..well thats imo really lazy. (Seeing how they already said that most will stay the same and in other parts we will get less than HW..) Also lets not forget that glamour is really important for a lot of people and sometimes its called the "true" endgame. Having more options for the looks of your character would really be quite the improvement..its kinda sad seeing so many clones running around.

Dear SE after all these cash shop sales..the big amount of fantasia some people buy and on top of that the monthly subscription..its time to get a bigger budget and put it back into the game. Landscapes might look beautiful but they wont keep the people playing this game..and since HW already had mixed reactions and quite some people were bored really fast you really need to have some good end game waiting in SB because right now, I feel like this could go even worse then HW..(Which I dont hope..just to be clear)
