While I had to laugh at this so much, in the end.. you mention the difference. I think WoW is also so popular because of its different races (not human like) and their character creation.

I'm not sure if it has changed recently, but each race in WoW never had that many variations. Period. It was easy to see soooo many people that looked just like you. Or very close to you, maybe just different hair or hair color. FFXIV has more options that WoW does (did?). I have no played many MMOS, but one had THE best character creation I'd ever seen. Sliders for almost everything, and the you could choose ANY color for almost anything. The only limits were skin tones. I don't know why SE didn't add the color thing that you can see in programs like MS Paint and Photoshop. I'm not sure what it's even called... The color picker thing. :P

The reason he gave for not adding a butt slider doesn't sit well with me. The textures would get stretched? We already have sliders for other things, including bust, so it's not like there's no way they couldn't make it work. At least he realises there's a demand and said he would look in to it.

The models were designed with existing features already in mind. They're not going to redo every model in the game for a butt slider, so it would end up stretching them.

Hmm could it be that you mean Aion by chance? I played it a while.. Its creator is impressive but also disgusting. You see everywhere little bunny girls running around in halfnaked costumes.. or some gross figures. I definetly do not want FFXIV ending up like that.

If they can't give us updated character creation options, I wish they'd at least update their models. Aura look pretty good. Decent hip size and all. Would it be too much h to ask to update everyone's hips? Especially Roegadyns and Highlanders. It looks ridiculous to have big breasts and a completely flat ass

If you google you can even see in fact that if someone goes over the "Maximum" of the current Breast Slider, the more the Breasts become blocky/edgy.

I wasn't going to mention any names, but you got it right. I haven't played that game recently either. Open-World PvP in the later areas was a turn-off for me, despite that I enjoyed everything else in the game. And I've seen people in FFXIV running around in bikinis or their underthings. And with bunny ears. *giggles* The other day there was a male au ra in his skivvies in Quarrymill. So it can happen in any game. But I do get your point. Give people an inch and they take a mile. *shrugs*

I don't think they would add giant balloon butts that would actually noticeably distort textures. We're probably all using the same textures anyway, and roe butts are already stretching the texture more than my butt could.

Also I don't think bust sliders effect armor, so I doubt butt sliders would either.

What? The amount of backend server stuff they are doing for this expansion is crazy.

"Crazy"? Are you kidding? They had *triple* the budget for this expansion, yet we are just catching up on a VERY small amount of QoL stuff. More inventory and armory space should have been done two years ago. That isn't exactly what I would call "crazy". What I call crazy is the fact that we have to pay, on top of our sub, an extra dollar a month for EACH retainer that we have to hire for extra space because they can’t implement a wardrobe system like WoW’s due to “server strain.” /That/ is crazy. Don’t you think that they should be upgrading their servers first to be able to handle that kind of thing that benefits /everyone/?

Also, doubling the housing space? Sure, that's fine for people who can actually GET A HOME. On Balmung, there is such a housing crisis that the ward they introduce will be eaten up in an hour. Why won't Square upgrade their servers to a system that can open up new wards as old ones get full? Lower pop servers won't require as many resources and high pop ones are upgraded as necessary. /That/ is crazy. Cross-server stuff is kinda' expected at this point as it has been in other games for a long while. People aren't complaining for more, they're complaining because this is stuff that should have been done already, especially with a TripleA title developer like Square who makes a good amount of money off of us.
