I don't mind the long DPS queue times, but probably because I enjoy being productive with what time I have during the queue to mine, craft, do beast tribe quests or just talk to complete strangers in big cities.

I do wish that they would let us do more things while waiting for queue though. Especially things like single player duties (these are in about half of the class quests). It's really common for me to be levelling alt characters while waiting for queues to pop. And then I have to stop my queue or wait until later to finish the quests. Get rid of some of the restrictions that revolve around waiting in queue, and the system will get at least a little better.
But I do agree that dungeons should be balanced around 5 party members with 3 DPS. The hard part though is that it would not result in a pure 50% decrease in the queue time, and also won't solve the problems completely. Since the queues would be shorter, many casual tank/healers would just swap over to DPS, and the total number of tanks/healers would just drop more, resulting in similar queue lengths. In order to provide a more stable form of queue time reduction, SquareEnix really needs to look at making the tank/healer classes more fun/engaging to play. I play all 3 roles, and there is no doubt that tank/healer roles feel more like a chore to me. Maybe I'm just a DPS at heart, but I do feel like if the tanks/healers had more complex DPS rotations or more involved playstyle in general, I would have a bit more fun on them.
Actually, in the case of Heavensward when they did bring in a new tank and healer, that was the case for maybe a month before queue times went back to normal. What had been more noticeable was that the vast majority of Dark Knight and Astrologian mains in Heavensward were already tank and healer mains before those jobs were released.
This is another thing that just won't happen because their argument that the tradition of Final Fantasy games having predominantly had a party of four will always outweigh any opinion players will have on the matter. However, I do agree that changes should be made to tanks and healers to make them feel more rewarding, but I also feel that it should come with making mobs and bosses deal more damage to non-tanks.

Yes, Stormblood proved that it's not the same both ways. Red Mage wasn't just viewed as a better alternative to Summoner at the time, but a job for healer mains to transition more easily into playing DPS. As for what players I know who went Samurai, the majority of them were tank mains who wanted something different.
Absolutely this! The Majority of Players speculated, some even thought its final, that Samurai is gonna be a Tank. Big was the dissapointment when it was just another DPS many would play but only few would actually play right. Now, Sam is stuck with a bad Reputation due to specific People wanting to play a Japanese oriented Job even though they dont play it right.

So speculation really came from XI players playing a game where seemingly any job could tank along with anyone who ignored the response from Yoshi when asked during Heavensward about Samurai that he was thinking something more from the Edo period for the job in the game. The nerdrage from those players though was just delicious. Oh so delicious....The Majority of Players speculated, some even thought its final, that Samurai is gonna be a Tank. Anyway, if we were to get a new tank and healer for 5.0, queue times might not be too bad for maybe a month or so before things go back to normal unless they pull out something that makes the roles themselves more appealing.
