Ignore Zay. He shit posts on Gamefaqs as well.
Anyways agree with the OP. I wasn't all that excited for 4.0, but yesterdays keynote felt like it was tailor made for me. I'm all in.
They probably don't want to talk about Omega just yet, since it's being introduced into the story in the 2nd part of the 3.5 MSQ. Eureka and Return to Ivalice probably won't be launch content, so they'll talk more about that closer to 4.1.
I do agree on the skills though, and I hope they show some of those off in the live letter.
It was underwhelming. The only exception was the new continent surprise. I didn't see it coming. Except from that he gave out fewer things than I expected. Fewer jobs and only 2 DPS, no info about the size of the new areas, nothing about character customization, nothing about the increase of PC specs yet it was bullet features in the slides as a major important key feature for some reason. Nothing on adding new housing plots on the old areas, nothing about the job overhaul he was referred. It was mostly recapping things we already knew.
Its a fan fest, its not designed for actual concrete information, rather an overview and hype machine of the expansion as a whole (flashy images, cool trailers, and overviews of jobs, raids, and new features). The next step of the PR machine is E3 and the media tour where we will be drip fed more and more information and includes the 3 hour live letter which gives us a load of information. It was underwhelming.
