Removal of Surnames

I like surnames. And I believe there is away to save nick names to ppl we talk to alot

My forum name is my planed game name actually.

People are unoriginal regardless of surnames. Surnames are literally such a non-issue, that it would be a waste of time to remove them at this point.

Surnames ensure that a HIGHER percentage of names will be imaginative and interesting, as imagination won't be restricted by the impossibility of duplicated names, forcing people to settle for lesser names and silly one-two letter variations.

As of the game being turned in a "text adventure", don't make me laugh. FFXIV actually features more or less the same text as other MMOs, that display the guild name under the name. If it bothers you so much /names is your solution.

the more i read this the more im reminded how much my surname was just off the top of head and how i wish i could go bak and think of something better again.

so i guess im in favor of being able to change surnames?
doesn't have to be free but rather then throwing real money i would prefer to throw time(Quest) or gil at the idea.

Great idea. And I guess the "quest" will add a 2 at the end of your name in the case there's someone else with the same name around, right?
