If for no other reason than this, I love surnames. There are many ways to make it easier to /t someone and not have to type surnames....but of course that would just be another set of opportunities for SE to have bugs to fix... /sigh

I dunno most of my names are pretty bad ass
Ruari Cairdeas : Which translates to Red Headed King of Friendship. :P
I need to play Ruari more though, I've kinda left her sit idle lately.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

/thumbsup for surnames
surnames are stupid.

Surnames are alright. You really can't remove a feature because people picked names that didn't exactly fit in with the game.
Oh nevermind, it's just a bored kid trying to troll. If you are in defense of surnames, please know that your name sucks and is not memorable to anyone other than yourself (unless you're Belgian, Rofl, that is...)

Yes... Another troll. Please go back to WoW, Trolls. >_>
It is not the Surname that you are worried it is people creativity to name their characters.

Llan Hana.

Oh shut the hell up. Troll? Are you serious? How about you get some insults that don't seem as if you're a 28 year old virgin mary who sits upstairs in her parents house wondering why virtual games is the only place she gets respect. Making me physically sick to the stomach.
Belgian. This thread seriously has to go. The thing you need to point out as a problem is the search functions. If they sorted those functions out you'd never have a problem with someone's name as long as you knew at least some of it.

Well, thank you for proving that you are indeed a Troll.Oh shut the hell up. Troll? Are you serious? How about you get some insults that don't seem as if you're a 28 year old virgin mary who sits upstairs in her parents house wondering why virtual games is the only place she gets respect. I wouldn't prove that as clearly as you just did by raging against me for no reason and calling me stuff, whatsoever.

Actually I'm going to go ahead and use your own term against you. Troll. Aren't you basically just being a troll by talking off subject without coming up with a conclussion on how to state a couple points about how this thread could be of good use? Example: My talk of search function being the true problem. Not surnames. Or Gun Anam's post about how will that affect the community if everyone has to revert back to a single name. Mikan's suggestion that they should allow you to click on the person and be able to click a command to send an automatic tell.
All these idea's are helping this discussion in one way or the other. Seems to me that if anyone is trolling on about nothing, it would be you. Stop being a troll, Llan Hana. Post some sort of counter rebuttal with points of concept. If not, shut the hell up.
Gun Anam I love the name by the way. Using words to describe a meaning of relation to the name. I really wish I could use my Xbox Live Gamertag of Fortune Of Terror which means a prediction of fear......But it's three words instead of two. Makes me want to cry or wish I could include "Of" in there completely independent somehow.
