    This. Heck, I dont even like the other tank jobs. I leveled everything to 60, but I really only play PLD and DRG, and occasionally WHM and Bard. I avoid casters like the plague, I just dont enjoy them. Not a big fan of Nin or MNK either, so that just left me with 1 melee dps to play, out of 7.

    Pretty much agree. Tossing all DPS together is a grave mistake. I'll make a list of my preferences:

    1 - Casters
    2 - Pet classes
    3 - Ranged
    4 - thief/rogue/burglar/assassin/ninja with daggers and stealth
    5 - Sword melee

    You're accurate in your assessment on the abilities are being looked at for combat and they're not going out of there way to completely overhaul the combat system. It's basically removing and merging abilities. They're also looking at combat time for field mobs but that's basically it.
