A new Tank and Healer wouldn't be likely to make DPS players switch from DPS'ing to Tanking and Healing instead. People will main one job, usually of a role they like. I know 2 tanks that are going SAM and one healer going RMN. I know another healer that wanted to switch to DPS in the expac but feels he will likely end up forced to go back to healing for the raiding regardless. That actually annoys him more than there being no new healer or tanks. It's the fact that since he is known as a healer he will end up feeling pressured by others to heal rather than make the switch.

Me, I tend to dislike doing questing as a healer or tank so I will probably take it slow and lvl two Jobs at once. I generally don't rush to end game.

I think people underestimate just how popular SAM is. So when it releases yes DF will be terrible, and many people will fate grind which they probably will boost fate xp for HW fates to compensate, and most people will use Potd.

I just hope the Healer and tank overhaul will not turn people towards tank and healer jobs and not away.

It won't. I can see it now. The "overhaul" will be nerfing AST/SCH and WAR/DRK and nothing more.

Fortunately for people who play DPS main, I will be one of the few DRKs still queuing as tank after the expansion hits. I always take a tank to cap first, and with no new tanks, I'll just have to stick with what I like best so far.

Lol Honestly, I feel it will effect the people that go grab Samurai right away, not those of us that are sticking with our current 60s.

While ya'll go level from 50-60 I will already be going through the story stuff with my DRG~ Head start~!

good thing my alt in savage is mnk so when I switch my main ill atleast have 270 gear to lvl with. good bye tanking, hello long ass queues

While I'm sure that even if there was a new tank barely any DPS would switch to a tank role (at least permanently), I can't help to feel sad that healers and tanks get no new "toy", just a rework of the existing jobs that we don't even know what it'll do.

Oh well, here's hoping that the PLD rework is interesting.
