    So glad it's a dps when he said tank at first I almost closed the stream.

    Finally a sword based dps and I don't mind the queues which would be bad anyway with only 2 jobs unless the new jobs were healer and tank only.

    Also can rub it in the face who said they would never do 2 dps only

    As much as he's being a little salty and that, He does make a good point: we have 3 tanks but we really only use 2 since Paladins are "bad" (they're not bad but they don't fit into the meta of the game, which is a real deal in FFXIV) and unless the overhaul will improve many of the things of combat, I don't expect things to change from what we have now: Warriors will remain because of high dps and great off tank capabilities, and Dark Knights will dominate because their damage is objectively higher (and constantly so, unlike the 30 seconds of fight or flight). Paladins? Their dps is lower and even if they got better defenses...who really cares, since FFXIV is a game where tanks don't really take benefits on stacking defensive stats and stuff.
    Just look at the parry stat and how useless it is!

    Meanwhile DPS have all sorts of difference right now and even if there's a meta there's enough variation for them to be useful: we have 2 physical ranged dps (please no more WM, I want my good old bard please), 4 melee and 3 caster. Sure some dps are better than others but unless we go in heavy meta build, they're all equally good and bring enough utility to the battle. Paladin does not...infact even Warriors have more utility with Storm's Path (10% less damage) and Dark Knights with their burst damage (thanks to Dark Arts and overall lots of OGCD skills) as well as having similar buffs to warrior (10% less damage with reprisal and 10% less INT with Delirium). And please don't tell me that Divine Veil and Clemency are good: the former is a very weak shield that requires too much timing to be effective (should be a passive) and Clemency can be cast only twice before going oom and can be interrupted (should be like a benediction instead)

    Heck even healers have it bad right now: AST basically beats WHM on everythings thanks to the cards buff and having similar skills to them (including a semi-benefiction) and overall flexibility to their kit and while they could be coupled with a WHM, why would anyone NOT pick a SCH who can give more buffs?

    So yeah unless the combat overhaul actually changes things for the better, the situation won't change and soon enough a new meta will pop up.

    Not gonna lie, I'm a bit salty about this. Not about Samurai specifically, since I have no particular attachment to that class. But seriously? Nothing? What's worse is their reasoning, "Well, we have more DPS so we're gonna add more DPS so we can have more DPS ¯\_(ツ)_/¯". It's not like you're not going to have a massive influx of tanks and healers in 4.0 either. So now what?

    So it brings the total of dps to 9, 3 tanks and 3 healers. Was 2 dps really needed?
    I think not, what would have been wrong with bringing in 1 dps, 1 tank and 1 healer?
    Either way it is not balanced....

    Assuming samurai and Red mage start at lvl 50... healers and tanks are not going to even touch low level dungeons knowing we have new fates, quests, and dungeons. It is going to be a $€#% show.

    I personally am tired to this content and don't want anything to do with it once the expac comes out.

    Well duh, that's implied for "I'm not buying the game on day one". After the mess they did in HW I won't really bother until 4.1 hits (if I don't find better games in the meanwhile)

    People only said that cause it they didn't think SE would do something almost certainly to lead to massive queues and much salt at launch. I can guarantee you that there will be threads about DPS complaining on the queue times for MSQ dungeons at launch.

    of course there will be. But like every other knee jerk reaction thread that's made in the forums, it will lose steam because the queue times won't forever be bad.

    and to be honest, no one is going to do the MSQ with a RDM or SAM right at launch, since they won't be able to get them to 60 in time. Most people going through their initial trip through the MSQ right on the day the expac is released will be somewhere between level 65-already done by the time you start seeing RDMs & SAMs queueing for those dungeons. So the queue times will be pretty normal for a while, actually it may be pretty instant since everyone will be queuing for them.

    The issue really isn't going to be as bad as everyone is saying.
