    It sure is.

Simply put, this game isn't 100% instance based, though it certainly can feel like that as a veteran player at end-game. So yes, the issue is overblown in the sense that queues for DPS have, and always will be, worse than the other roles. Your response is a great example of the level of exaggeration we're getting to. It's long term consequences? What, when people are running their one dungeon a day, and it takes them longer to queue, despite it being the only activity they log for (and complaining about it at that)? Okay. When people are refusing to RF raids and trials because, "lel can't skip soar"?

Also worth note: It's always been faster to do anything BUT dungeons for DPS players. The only exception to the rule was on HW launch, where FATEs scaled poorly, and we didn't have PoTD. Dungeons, and DF are majorly for convenience, the latter for people who don't want to make friends or go through the 'trouble' of making their own party. The efficiency of doing DF/Dungeons has always been worse, so maybe people will finally turn to other methods and utilize the small amounts of variety we are given.

If people want to conveniently ignore the other content and systems used to make partying easier in the game so that they can have something to worry so much about, that's fine. These days, seems like that's just the mantra of every MMO community. Meanwhile, a million SAM and RDM will be figuring out that this game actually does have other things to do.
