Samurai Melee DPS thoughts

People only said that cause it they didn't think SE would do something almost certainly to lead to massive queues and much salt at launch. I can guarantee you that there will be threads about DPS complaining on the queue times for MSQ dungeons at launch.

This is such an overblown issue.

On the launch of expansions there has always been enough players to fill each server to max capacity, and we just got Cross-Server PF with 50+ parties pretty consistently. That's with almost the bare minimum players active. Do people REALLY think, considering those couple of things, there's really gonna be that big an issue? Find friends. Join Discord groups. Ask your FC. It's the perfect time to get more social.

On the topic of Samurai as a DPS? Dream come true. The fact that there's only 2 new jobs gives me hope that they really worked hard to create an interesting image and place in the meta for both.

Its a pure numbers thing. Unless the pool of tanks and healers start charity runs for random dps it will be pure supply and demand. The very fact that there will be a shortage means most tanks and healers will probably be running only with their FCs as they will have an over abundance of dps to heal/tank for. The vast masses will still be lacking. You can have 1000 parties on the party finders but if there aren't enough tanks or healers then its not going to matter. A shortage is a shortage.

I could be wrong but we will both know in 4 months. Either way the only real impact it will have on me is the likely amounts of salt generated by impatient DPS demanding SE do something about hour long dungeon queues.
