Eh, I'm already waiting 20 to 30 mins every day to get my Ex roulette done, as healer.
Can do other things meanwhile, I guess.

DPS ques have been pretty good on my end so far, yes when Stormblood comes out/goes early access (I'm sure it will) it'll probably be pretty long. But their are plenty of ways to level the new jobs to 60 and it wouldn't surprise me if people find the best way to level to 70. Depending on how the combat changes go it might even get back to normal in less then two weeks.

Way to go make all dps ques times go up even more. Samurai is very big disappointment using only 1 handed katana instead of a 2 handed katana. So classes that be first to level 70 will be the tanks and healers because they balanced ratio even more. Like to know what they was thinking doing it.

Actually, if you queue on the Raid Finder for Alexander, it requires a party composition of:
2 Tanks
2 Healers
2 Melee DPS
1 Caster DPS
1 Ranged Physical DPS
Unless you have a pre-made party of 8, then rules don't apply.
Also, i don't think anyone deserves anything before someone else.
Why would you think that you deserve something before someone else?
Tanks were are 3 Jobs.
Melee DPS were at 3 Jobs.
Why should either of them deserve their 4th job first?
I think they did a pretty good job actually, if you think about it, they did a full cycle pretty much.
2.0: SMN SCH - Caster, Healer
2.4: NIN - Melee
3.0: DRK AST MCH - Tank, Healer, Ranged Physical
4.0: RDM SAM - Caster, Melee
It's almost like they've gone a full cycle, with the exception of SCH, which was pretty necessary to make the raiding concept possible in 2.0.

I'm not bitching because i deserve it or some kind of bullshit reason like that, but simply in this game everything spin around dps.
For years tanks had basically 2 and ½ (imho poor PLD is not bad as it's depicted) jobs at their disposal and now we are still stuck with the same situation for at very least another 3 years.
As i said before the ability overhaul will not dramatically change how war,drk and pld act we can only hope that both 3 class will have a good balance from start because if even one the 3 tank class or 3 healer class will result broken due to the changes i cannot even imagine the level of rage that will result.
Side note:
Sweet baby jesus this char limit on post is maddening
I feel you, as I main tank as well, a little part of me is disappointed.
Even more so, I'm a huge huge samurai/eastern culture fanboy to be fair, but i'm actually glad it's a dps, looking at sam it has a better feel to it imo.
2 or 4 years does sound long, but i don't think it's such a long time personally.
I do come from ffxi though, so long term investments are kinda part of my nature.
Played PLD RDM SAM for years, probably like 7 years.
But that's kinda the great thing about Final Fantasy mmos, you're not bound to one job.
I enjoy playing multiple jobs, although it was easier to have relevant gear in ffxi, it's kinda... a pain in the bum in ffxiv.
And i'm not sure if you've actually tried all jobs, but personally i feel like Melee DPS and Tanks are a lot more alike than Melee DPS and Caster DPS, personal opinion though.
They sadly can't please everyone at the same time. Someone had to get the short end of the stick.
You're right to voice that you're displeased, but at the same time, other people who are pleased will voice against it too.
Side Note: You can edit to bypass 1000 character limits
This is not true for raid finder, you need to have the right party composition.
Afaik at least, as we've tried to get into a12s with a MCH taking the 'caster' spot from another server, it wouldn't match us.

I've played the same 2 jobs for 6 years. I'm happy to finally have something new to play. I've been a PLD for almost 4 now.I'm not bitching because i deserve it or some kind of bullshit reason like that, but simply in this game everything spin around dps.

As much as he's being a little salty and that, He does make a good point: we have 3 tanks but we really only use 2 since Paladins are "bad" (they're not bad but they don't fit into the meta of the game, which is a real deal in FFXIV) and unless the overhaul will improve many of the things of combat, I don't expect things to change from what we have now: Warriors will remain because of high dps and great off tank capabilities, and Dark Knights will dominate because their damage is objectively higher (and constantly so, unlike the 30 seconds of fight or flight). Paladins? Their dps is lower and even if they got better defenses...who really cares, since FFXIV is a game where tanks don't really take benefits on stacking defensive stats and stuff.but simply in this game everything spin around dps.
For years tanks had basically 2 and ½ (imho poor PLD is not bad as it's depicted) jobs at their disposal and now we are still stuck with the same situation for at very least another 3 years.

Just look at the parry stat and how useless it is!
Meanwhile DPS have all sorts of difference right now and even if there's a meta there's enough variation for them to be useful: we have 2 physical ranged dps (please no more WM, I want my good old bard please), 4 melee and 3 caster. Sure some dps are better than others but unless we go in heavy meta build, they're all equally good and bring enough utility to the battle. Paladin does not...infact even Warriors have more utility with Storm's Path (10% less damage) and Dark Knights with their burst damage (thanks to Dark Arts and overall lots of OGCD skills) as well as having similar buffs to warrior (10% less damage with reprisal and 10% less INT with Delirium). And please don't tell me that Divine Veil and Clemency are good: the former is a very weak shield that requires too much timing to be effective (should be a passive) and Clemency can be cast only twice before going oom and can be interrupted (should be like a benediction instead)
Heck even healers have it bad right now: AST basically beats WHM on everythings thanks to the cards buff and having similar skills to them (including a semi-benefiction) and overall flexibility to their kit and while they could be coupled with a WHM, why would anyone NOT pick a SCH who can give more buffs?
So yeah unless the combat overhaul actually changes things for the better, the situation won't change and soon enough a new meta will pop up.
