Samurai Melee DPS thoughts

I like Samurai as a DPS to be honest. Yes, it'll be a nightmare for the Dungeon Ques for a while, but at the end of the day I doubt too many people will switch from their favored role anyways. Tanks will continue to tank, Healers will continue to Heal, and DPS will continue to DPS, just with two new flavors.

Tank: Paladin - Warrior - Dark Knight
DPS (physical): Dragoon - Monk - Samurai
DPS (Magical): Black Mage - Summoner - Red Mage
DPS (support/enminity control/TP-MP regen...): Bard - Machinist - Ninja
Healer: White Mage - Scholar - Astrologian

This is why we are not getting new classes for Healer or Tank in the next expansion.

The logic is there. That doesn't change any of the consequences of adding only dps jobs or the disappointment healer or tank players may feel, particularly since beyond the new settings we have actually very little detail about how Stormblood is going to over us a new playing experience. A job getting an overhaul can cause as much trepidation as excitement as you have little idea how much it will change and wether you will still enjoy the end product.

One of the DPS is a caster, the other one is another asian-themed class.

No luck for me.
And yes, I am maining Ninja, but only because it's the closest thing to a rogue available.
I hate the aesthetics.

When DRK came out, at least for my data server the first 2 weeks of HW launch all roulettes said need dps. Since the jobs are starting at lvl 50 it wont hurt players coming up from lvl 1.

Will dps queue times increase, yes but they are already large enough.

RM and SAM seem like 2 very fun classes. And I am sure once people are done playing the classes they will go back to playing either their tank or healer, or they will do what many people fear and forgo healing and tanking and make SAM or RM their main.

I hate tanking extremely, and after getting confirmed that no healer is getting added, it's a pleasant surprise I'll at least have a new class to level after all.

About the classes, my hopes were on the RDM so i am not feeling disapointed on that point. Also, they stated long time ago the part about not adding 3 classes again, looking at the roster we have now and the "choices" we knew about it was kinda 2+2 to guess :/ That doesnt mean i dont understand the frustation.

I really hope Stormblood not to be Heavensward 2.0...

I main healer and play tank quite a bit. I am happy that they did not include either in 4.0x.

Right now, the three classes they have now are very unbalanced. There are healers and tanks that are just about unwelcome in endgame. I want to see that fixed before they add more jobs and make an even bigger mess.

Welp I am changing my Main Job to Samurai instead of Red Mage. Why?

Because I love Sword Melee Jobs!

I was honestly hoping for it to be a tank simply do to less people actually playing it, but in still looking forward to it being a melee dps as it's way more fitting in that role.

What are your thoughts and do you think that que times are really going to be a non issue...I just don't see that personally.
