but its very possible (and far more likely) that the exp gained from POTD past level 60 will not be significant enough to justify leveling through it, especially when we will have new dungeons, fates, and possibly other better ways to level.

If I were the dev team, I would make sure that POTD would not be a viable choice for leveling. That would diminish the usefulness of the new areas almost entirely.
