PS4 Freezing in Dungeons again.

I've had this issue before, and it went away. But now it is back for some reason.

I never figured out what the problem was the first time it just kinda went away on its own.

I'll be as specific as I possibly can. here is what happens:

I am in a Dungeon, playing on PS4.

We start a pull, everything is going fine.

EVERYTHING ON THE SCREEN freezes, except for me. I can move, and cast spell and use my skills. EVERYONE ELSE, both allies and enemies are frozen in place, not moving or doing anything. this lasts from 2-5 seconds.

after the 2-5 seconds, everything unfreezes, and I see everything that everyone did in that 2-5 seconds that everything was frozen for me, all at once. all the damage registers, health bars instantly go down, characters warp all over the place. it is like my game stops...and then plays catch up.

this happens approximately every 90 seconds or so, and I've only noticed it happen in a dungeon. specifically, Leveling Roulette dungeons.

i think next time I queue for DF, I will record this.

Sounds a lot like you suffering from lagging spikes.
Try to use ethernet if possible.

I don't game on wifi, my ps4 is always connected to ethernet.

and this ONLY happens in FFXIV, I have never seen this in any other Online Game i've ever played on my PS4.

you may need to invest in a VPN solution like WTFast or some such. You're getting massive lag spikes, which could be because of your ISP.

I understand what you are saying we are in the same boat, its not only happens in ps4 but pc as well.
The reason why everything stop but your character is because of data packed lost somewhere in the traffic, usually in busy days like after work hrs.
When that happens try to run your ip to the Datacenter.

I THINK (knock on wood) that I figured out what the problem was on my end.

I think that it had to do with me using the PS4 System Software Beta build.

I reverted back to the normal build and it seems to have fixed the issue. (knock on wood).

welp, I was wrong.

that didn't help anything. I'm still lagging the same way and it makes the game completely unplayable. guess I should just stop playing this.

I need to mention that this has ONLY happened in DF Duties and POTD for me, from what I can see.

i can stand around my FC house and do nothing, or do solo quests and everything is fine. but as soon as I run any actual content, the freezing starts.

so, update.

this is still a thing.

I had a tech from my ISP come to my house. they determined that there was no problem with my line, and that my signal to my house was very strong. he figured it was probably an issue with my router, so I replaced it.

did NOT fix the problem.

so, it is not at all a problem on my end, it is a problem on the server end.
