Such things should be the exception, not standard. The fact that we are where we are now just shows one of the many things wrong with Zurvan and this community
I wouldn't really call it a bonus if the sole reason you were going with a specific party comp in the first place was to skip the mechanic. You can argue all day about people being terrible for not knowing how to perform the mechanic properly, but in this particular instance the blame should fall on the damage dealers. If the DPS were doing their jobs properly, the party wouldn't have to deal with the mechanic to being with, regardless of whether or not people knew how to do it. Otherwise, what on earth was the point in going with 1/2/5 or even 1/1/6 if you aren't doing any better than 2/2/4? That's just extra stress and less room for error for no reason in that case.
I think people shouldn't raging in chat about low DPS, just either left, disband & remake without the low dps or just carry them. Raging is kinda not nice.
However, I see nothing wrong with parsing in farm. You don't know how sad the parser look sometimes. Maybe you should parse and you may understand why people rage quit.
When i go as healer and DPS, and the fight is so solo-healable but the co-healer heal only and then jump around while no healing required, i feel stupid (for letting myself put so much effort in while I could learn from "the best" and get easy time). Or when I go as dps and only 1 or 2 dps are at the top of the chart (me included ofc), all other dps are at around the tank level with 300-400 dps lower than the top or 2nd dps. When i got those kind of dps i do 1 or 2 runs and say good bye, unless i somehow got the bird and have to stay for a few more runs.
Often, the one bad dps got the bird while you stare at them with your hands kinda hurting from all that high KPM (keys per minute) smashing you did. :P
People make out like they're 5 or 10 dps lower than someone else and the filthy parsing people blow up and demand they be booted
in reality, it's not uncommon for the disparity to be huge. Other day we had one dps on 2000+ and one on 1200 (same class).
I don't really understand how people can argue that the current system with everyone "officially" in the dark as to who's dragging the entire party down is acceptable, but that's just imo

This had happened to me today, I joined a Zurvan EX farm and they wanted high DPS. I thought maybe I would be one of the DPS that could deliver high deeps, but when the team discovered that they didn't skip the first soar, they started complaining; immediately, the tank claim that I was one of DPS who lacked attack power. So, I just did them a favor and left because I didn't want to slow the team down.
Having high dps is pretty good because the boss goes down faster, but worrying over DPS from one simple mechanic is getting ridiculous. So what if whether or not you skip soar, just as long as you don't screw up the other mechanics, the team still should be able to get those clears (and maybe bird).
The farm party that I joined before the one I described, we cleared Zurvan EX 4 times in a row - PERFECTLY - and we had to do the soars.

Welcome to FFXIV in 2017. We have what we deserve, because we didn't stop this people form turn the community into this.

Then. Why a party who do perfectly the mechanics, down the boss, but didn't skip first soar is a bad party? Because that's he problem right now. You can do the fight with no deaths and all perfect without skip soar and people sill will say sucks because no skip soar. That's the thing here.
