    DPS obsession in farm groups

i'm so tired of this,i start a farm party,we clear the trial, yes it takes 8 minutes over 6 minutes, some amazing dps parsing lovely individual inevitably goes:

"OMGRRRD DPS LOW I'M LEAVING LIKE TOTALLY LUULLLZ LERN TO PLAY GAMEZ NOOBZ"

then all the startled parroting idiots jump the ship, and this repeats ad nauseum .

this is not alex savage.keep your parsers there.
we are clearing the trial and getting loot.GOAL ACHIEVED!
this is not a parsing competition group.
this is not optimal runs, this is a group to get loot.
it is faster to do the nidhogg with group that doesn't wipe that takes 9 minutes instead of 7 minutes than to go back to pf AND LOOK FOR 7 NEW PEOPLE OVER AND OVER AGAIN ONLY TO REPEAT THE SAME PATTERN!

STOP WITH THE DPS HOARING IN THE FARM GROUPS!
they have wasted days of my time
IF YOU WANT TO FARM WITH ALEX SAVAGE SOUL OF CREATOR DPS ILVL 275 FARM WITH YOUR DAMN STATIC!STOP JOINING MY FARM GROUPS AND DESTROYING THEM!READ THE PF!
    it is total cancer

While I understand and tend to agree with your statement.

Zurvan specifically is so broke that high dps actually allows you to skip so much of his mechanics that when you don't have high DPS general cross-party finder groups fail due to not knowing rudimentary soar mechanics. Mostly because they probably haven't run into it, with the exception of the last soar that the tank probably used limit break on.

Then add the fact that Cross-Party finder is a godsend for DPS, where they can literally just hop from one party to the next. With very little delay, the attitude have always been there, but was previously held in check with the vagueness of Duty Finder.

    Zurvan
Dps allows you to skip one mechanic in that fight which is a mechanic you still need to do the second time around, no lb 2 will not save you if you have if people still don't know how to do the mechanic all lb 2 does is change the two hits in a single mechanic= instant death and makes it a 3 hit. skipping it is nice but changes nothing for the grand scheme of the fight.

Skipping it only allow people with a parser to not have a "pause" in th fight where their dps decrease. Poor them.

By skipping the first soar, you are actually skipping several mechanics on that fight. There is also a Demon Claw/Wave Cannon that will repeat if you take your time getting to 74%. Tank LB 2 can and does, on a regular basis, save parties who don't know how to position themselves during the final soar.

I agree knowing mechanic is more important. But the sad reality we have in Cross-Party finder says differently. If you have high enough DPS, mechanics can be ignored. This is why echo works.

Was farming Zurvan with 1 tank, 1 heal and 6 (decent) dps.

    What is soar?

I find it disturbing, because if Soar isn't skipped, but YOU know Soar's mechanics and they don't, you are still bashed for low DPS, although you, the tank, and the healer(s) continue to survive it. It seem that the PF creator is usually a DPS, and s/he expects everyone to go above and beyond.

Sometimes, I noticed said DPS aren't even baiting the aoes in phase 1 when the platforms are falling.

    *EDIT*
One reason I chose to become a tank and healer is because I grew tired of feeling like crap when I couldn't push out high dps. That moment when an iLv242 NIN does more damage than my iLv253 NIN, I knew I had to retire that job.

Unless someone is dying to simple mechanics or wiping the group, the parser readers tend to stay quiet in my farm groups. I think we need a Tales from PF thread now with Cross-Server Party Finder.

A mentor stole my house, slapped me across the face, and raised my ping from 15 to 30. Literally unplayable.

I won't stay in a niddhog group which fails multiple times on skipping towers. Are we in 3.3? This content is 8+ months old.

Especially with cross-server good players have a lot of groups to choose.

Also, one player complains about dps and then suddenly you have to look for seven other players?

Mostly because of the hidden algorithm, which always contributes loot to the overall worst player.

Some people are tired of carrying... and if a 270 dps giving everything and still not skipping towers, then this is a carry group. Trade that 270 good player against an average and people start failing fang&claw or adds killing tanks... sometimes I do 25-30% of the dps in such groups. That is carrying.
