Zenith Weapon for Second Job issue

Hi I recently came back to FFXIV after a long hiatus. Origianlly my first job was SMN. I got to 50, and started the relic reborn quest, but never finished for that job. I got up to Garuda Hard. When I came back I restarted as a WHM. I got my relic weapon but now it wont let me continue on to get my WHM Zenith weapon. It wants me to be a SMN and start the SMN Zenith weapon. Do I have to do every step of the SMN relic reborn quests before doing it for another job?

You interact with the furnace near Gerolt to change a weapon to Zenith. It's not a quest. Submit your WHM weapon and some thavnarian mist (purchased at revenant's toll) to the furnace to receive zenith.
