how much gb is ffxiv?

hello i just want to know why when i launch ffxiv on square enix i have about 23,2 gb
but when i download it at steam it was just about 17.3 can someone tell me where are the rest of it? ty

23.7 gb. in a few months new expansion tho, and maintenance on 28th to possibly add a bit more to file size.

but why does steam just have about 17,3? and not already the 23,2 like when u download it on square enix ? or did i do something wrong?

Well with all of the current content from 2.0 to 3.5 on the PS4 it's 47.7 GBs

I believe that steam stores the file diffrently from the native Windows version which might explain the diffrence in the file sizes

Square doesn't update the steam version very often, so the steam version is smaller because it is out of date. After you finish downloading the steam version, the launcher will update the game...which is about ~15gb of downloading at a much slower speed than steam. My experience was I grabbed the steam version in about 20 minutes and then the update took about 6 hours. Sloppy!

oh weird but after one day so today at night i have the 23,8gb but that is what everyone have right? or do u have more ?

I redownloaded the game recently. It's 29.95 gb download size for pc.



The install size is smaller at 23.7gb.

I think Rinari's right on the main reason. Most of the remaining several gigabytes will come as patch updates.

If that 17.3 was the size of the download, then part of it could also be a difference between download size and file size. I'm not certain if it's the case with this game, but I know lots of applications are in a more compressed form for downloading, but then need to be uncompressed before using them.
