    Item culling getting worse

I had heard of item culling occurring in houses (Where they won't all load on the screen when you look at them, or they appear and disappear if you move around a little) but never really saw it before.

But now I see it, and it's happening a lot in both houses and private chambers.

I think this might be the fault of intractable items, as I didn't have the problem before, but now do. The only thing I can think changed is I added more intractable items. I still have the same number of items in my house.

How many others have this problem or know how to fix it (no, changing the rendered items to max in system settings doesn't fix it)

My large house on Balmung, The Goblet, ward 3 plot 60.

If you're on Balmung go have a look and BEHOLD the power of ITEM CULLING. It's a bit ridiculous. I've seen houses with blocked off upstairs and basements, with 200 items on one floor and their homes don't have any vanishing items. This is something I hope they fix in Stormblood. Or at least give us the option to turn it off.

It is 100% the interactable items. My friend and I tested this in our own private mansion. I think the magic number we found was 42. I'm not sure if its less for smaller estates, but that was the the exact number at which items stopped disappearing.

Its very frustrating because so many items have an interaction that it limits what you can do in your home unless you can ignroe the items vanishing and I could not.

It's really frustrating, extra so, because there's interactive items that I only want to interact with ONCE. And I don't want ANYONE touching them after that. But there's no fc setting to let people not touch them, either. I'm going to have to count all of my items and pick up what I don't really need because it's driving me insane. I totally DO need the 5+ large picture frames. My large house walls are bare, I need em. NEED EM.

I had to get rid of the Amdapori Beacons in our FC yard because of this. People would constantly change the color of just one of them, and it would drive my OCD through the roof!

They could probably just cut houses in to smaller instanced areas to lessen the amount of data that is needed to load per room.

Yeah, but then we'll complain about having to load into different rooms of our houses.

And, they'll probably blame it on "PS4 limitations" too. And everyone wants balconies, which would have to be a similar solution using a version the current of the software they're using for reflective surfaces like the moogle gun's or a fixed/limited camera to solve the issue with backgrounds or something.

They have said item culling will be worse in Stormblood due to 32bit limits of the OS & corresponding game running atop it. Out of interest, are you running 32bit Windows? I've never had any of the issues you mention but I'm on 64bit & wonder if it's already affecting some people.

I'm on 64 bit and ran into the issue while filling someone's house to the brim with pumpkin stew during the Halloween event. Will have to wait and see if the changes they make to the client for stormblood make a difference for people even on 64 bit systems.
