    Color changing your chocobo

I haven't changed the color of my chocobo (companion) since it was first introduced and have forgotten a lot of the steps, anyone have any good links that provide help on changing the color of your chocobo? I imagine it's changed to some degree since it was first made available.

As far as I know the process is the same. You feed fruits until you get a colour change message and it works in the RGB scale.

    This calculator should help.

It'll tell you how to feed them too. (It's best to spread the different fruit colours out so you do not risk capping one value before you reach your intended colour.)

    Thanks. That is great.

The only problem is getting hold of the fruit and veg.

It's been a while since I've changed the color in mine and maxed it so I could be wrong. I recall having my retainers gather some of them and purchased some from NPC. I know currently the Vath beastman sell some if your trust is high enough.

Unless it's changed you can purchase the seeds from your Grand Company using Allied Seals (Hunts). There may be other ways to get them now too.

Then if you have access to any sort of garden you can plant/grow them. You don't need a full garden, pots within apartment/FC rooms will work too (but obviously more restricted on how many can grow at once).

You can grow them in a pot in the Apartment?

    That is great news. Thanks.

Just make sure to water once a day until they pop and using grade 3 shroud soil will give you maximum yield.

Yep you can grow any regular seeds in the pots inside, they just won't crossbreed.

Ideally with the chocobo colour foods you want to use Grade 3 Shroud Topsoil as well (or 2 or 1 instead of standard potting soil) as those soils can increase how many items you get at the end. Not all crops work with it, but from memory these chocobo food/seeds do (someone please correct me if I'm wrong!)

All crops can be grown (just not crossbred) in the flower pots. The only seeds with growth restrictions I know of are for growing the vase flowers and those require a flower pot (cannot be grown in a normal garden).
