I've paid fairly little to furnish mine - omnicrafter here. I'd recommend checking an external database like gamerescape to see if something you like is buyable, though. There's a lot that sells in the housing district NPCs that's on the MB for ridiculous amounts of gil. If you don't craft yourself, you can also buy mats on the MB and ask a friend/FC member/make a PF to craft it for you.
