Chakras are places within the body that are the seat of powerful energies. Aether is always flowing through the body, but the chakras are usually in a "closed" state, like a valve that doesn't allow a forceful flow. Monks learn to open the valves, letting aether flow forcefully through the charkras and thus allowing the monks to channel extremely powerful energies.

The tradition doesn't overlap with the Ninja in terms of what things are called or how things are done, but aether is aether. Rather than being channeled into magicks, however, the aether is concentrated in the fist, foot, or shoulder to allow for blows if seemingly-impossible destructive power.
