Sword of the Round/Shield, Give it the ability to drop in Gold-trimmed Sacks please.

What the title says, There is no real reason to craft it for progression sake, and it's just a really cool Glamour. So why not let people who aren't Blacksmiths have a chance at it, without being at the mercy of it's creator's usually high Gil price. There are a number of items in the I-Lev range of the Sword of the Round and Shield of the Round, in the Gold sacks. And both happen to be glowing versions of Primal weapons. Progression won't be hampered. Because Blacksmithing it will be a Guaranteed source, whereas the Gold Sacks, you are at the mercy of the RNG system, Blacksmiths will still have a reason to craft it. Does anyone else agree? Comment down bellow.

I get what you are saying, however potd has done enough damage to crafter's markets as it is. We were given no heads up at all as to what would be included in the bag drops and have had a large investment in time and gil already wasted when the gear we ground out or purchased matts for to make a profit was made moot in a single week.
On top of that the current change with housing items, again made with no information beforehand as to what would be included, dealt another blow. i have no issue with the housing items i thing it was a good idea actually, but a heads up for the ppl who have investments in said items would have been nice.

edit: That being said when you consider the matts needed to craft the specific items you mentioned there would be no reason to craft them at all. The price they would drop to wouldn't cover a single ingot, so it would just be a waste of time and gil.
What I would suggest would be to change the actual recipe for items added to potd bags, so ppl could still craft them without needing to charge a high price to profit over the cost of production

Yeah but then there comes the problem of people who want to get it but don't want to level the blacksmith class. People likely will still have the price set up super high for buying them of of the auction house, So why not make the bags drop the Recipe for the Weapons, and the Materials. And have the recipe be a universal level. If that can't be done i do think they should re-work the crafting class progression so it's nicer to new players.

Thats the thing it won't be set high on the market board because ppl will be selling the items dropped from potd and undercutting them to nothing. An example would be the allagan armors, they used to sell for millions due to the recipe reqs but now are like 5k on my server due to ppl undercutting with potd drops. It would be even worse with these items considering all of the matts used are bought with lore/ gc seals/ beast tribe tokens/ and desynth items. since you don't have access to the recipes i'll put them on just for perspective sake. Again i understand your reasoning, but things like this would really make crafting at all pretty pointless.

Yes, lets just add every item to potd like they originally did with retainer quick ventures and remove crafting from the game. Lol...

No, this is NOT a problem - you want something: Go and earn it!

I'm sorry this is going to be a minor rant from a mastercrafter who is SICK of people being all like "Oh, I want this, please, hand it to me already!"
It doesnt matter that it doesnt hurt the progression of DoW/DoM - it hurts the progression of crafterclasses if anything is just handed out like candy that was supposed to give us some way of income. Those recipes are 3star-recipes, that means: Crafter-Endgame. You dont want to bother with crafting? Sure, but dont ask for the rewards/perks of it handed to you. I dont want to bother with the savage raids - should I be able to craft the mounts you get from the last tiers? No, ofc I shouldnt!
I do understand what you mean - they're some pretty cool looking weapons, I used them myself for a while. After I crafted them. Myself. Because I bothered to level my crafters and thats my reward.

Getting this items will be made easier in Stormblood (but honestly: getting the recipe and crafting such things as glamouritems isnt even difficult), til then: Leave it be what it is - an endgame-high-level item that crafters, who invested time and money can make a profit from. Yes, even if that costs you a fortune.
Crafting progression seems totally fine to me btw - they made leveling crafters easier with the two beasttribes (ixal and moogle); you can work on getting your mastercrafter-books while leveling (with earning blue scrips) and you dont relay on crafted gear and heavy overmelds anymore. It has been made significantly easier for new players to get into crafting - taking away the carrot on the stick ("You can make this cool/expensive items!") isnt a great idea, sorry.

People not getting something they want isnt the problem - people wanting something handed to them is.

TLDR.: No, dont add them to gold sacks and ruin another market just because someone cant bother to level a crafter.

I think they should have had PotD drop crafting mats instead of the actual finished items in the first place. All its done is ruin the market so a lot of items cost less than the mats to make them, although this is getting better since PotD isn't shiny new content with people running it 24/7 anymore.
