Incredibly trivial and minor inconsistency about beds.

In Ishgard, the Cloud Nine inn has a Comfy Feather Bed.

This is standard across all the inns thus far in the game.

However, page 159 of the Encyclopedia Eorzea states:

What is my character sleeping on? Will she eventually have cause to complain of back problems?

It doesn't matter, once you lay down and log out she is removed from the server and stored on a hard disc somewhere, if that hasn't given her back problems yet its not likely to now

We don't pay anything to use inn rooms either.

I did find it a bit odd that what was supposed to be a reward for solving a given city-state's early-level problems ended up applying to every other city-state.

I wonder if there's some sort of circular going around the Innkeepers' Association of Eorzea that the Warrior of Light gets to have a room gratis.

Free rooms for adventurers (not just the WoL) has been a practice in the Roost, Hourglass, and Mizzenmast Inn for some time, since before the Calamity. It's likely a "perk" of membership with the Adventurers' Guild, since these establishments are all partnered with the guild (not owned by!). So Gibrillont giving us a free room in the Forgotten Knight because of our efforts in Ishgard is likely how SE swings what normally would've been an Adventurers' Guild perk in a place that has no Adventurers' Guild.

As to the quality standards of the inn rooms... there seems to be some mixed reviews. The innkeepers (Mytesyn, Otopa Pottopa, V'korolon, and Antoinaut) all speak grandly of their establishments when speaking to clients, usually citing the best sleep you'll find in Eorzea. A patron in Ul'dah and Mytesyn himself in Limsa seems to have some doubts about the overall quality of the rooms though.

I couldn't find any non-biased dialogue regarding the Roost in Gridania, so maybe it is as good as V'korolon and Antoinaut say it is?

I just assume that the target marker and any names there-above come with a warning label: "OSTENSIBLY".

This is ostensibly a comfy feather bed. This is ostensibly a deepvoid deathmouse. This is ostensibly drowned courtesan.

Usually, if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. Sometimes, in spite of all evidence, Frandelont Raimdelle demands that duck be labeled as a spoken. Sometimes, in the end, that drowned courtesan is an Allagan bioweapon and the mouse is just a mouse.

So that is ALLEGEDLY a comfy feather bed. Perhaps the scholar that wrote the Encyclopaedia Eorzea believes otherwise. Perhaps it really is a comfy feather bed and that scholar is guilty of slander, ever nursing a grudge for some personal slight, perceived or otherwise...

I admit I don't recall the exact nature of how the WoL got that free inn room, since it was many many quests ago, and I was still in wide-eyed wonder at all the new things in FFXIV. I didn't even check to see if I could have gotten into the inn room before the questlines told me I could.

I do have the distinct recollection of Baderon telling me I can use the Mizzenmast room for free in perpetuity after I finished up the Limsa starter quests, but again, that might just be flavour text.
