    Social Slot for Headpieces.

"I wear glasses, and I would like my character to also wear glasses because I do, and I would like to see a part of myself in this character."

It is a simple enough statement that holds a lot of merit, but having a character wear glasses poses one big problem. Leveling with glasses.

Glamouring your headpieces while leveling isn't exactly feasible unless you have money to burn as you replace pieces so frequently. So you have 3 options:

    A) Go without.
    B) Spend of a lot money.
    C) Just wear glasses and screw using headwear.

None of these are really great solutions, but if we have a social slot for headpieces (like in Terraria) we can allow for more players to play as their bespectacled character unless having glasses can be done while wearing headgear (which would take WAY more work what with clipping issues and modelling).

    Just a thought.

When you have lag, every action is an adventure.

The same argument could then be brought for pretty much any other slot however, for example with T-shirts and the Survival Shirt, bracers and necklaces, wedding rings etc, and it goes a bit further: Being left/right handed or ambidextrous.

So I don't think an exception for glasses here is warranted. But I do think that in the long run, it would be good to make the glamour system independent of the actual gear you're wearing and instead use a system similar to gear sets, where you can instantly switch between glamours at will. It would alleviate your issue as well, but it would also help everyone else.

Well, glasses ARE a special case in that really, you SHOULD be able to wear glasses ALONG WITH most other headpieces. There's no reason I should have to take off my glasses to wear a hat, or even a helmet.

I think that it would be nice if SE would create a glamour-only slot for glasses. Unfortunately, there are a lot of glasses in this game that AREN'T glamour-only, and have actual stats on them. Adding this feature might require more rework than SE is comfortable with - and that's disregarding the possible clipping issues. (Though, to be honest, we've got tons of clipping issues with other gear we have, so I don't think SE would need to worry too much about that problem. If folks are silly enough to wear both glasses and a mask, let them.)

I'd just generally like to see the "head" and "face" equip slots to be seperate.

I want to wear glasses with my mage hat.
I want to wear a magic mask beneath my hood.
I want to wear flowers in my hair while being blindfolded.
I want to wear a scarf over my mouth and a cool bandana too.

It is taking away so much opportunity for glamour to be forced to wear ONLY one thing or the other, when logically, we should be able to wear both.
Of course, balancing an additional gear slot in PvE and PvP would be a problem, so I wish we will one day see the actual gear and the glamour look becoming 2 seperate systems, like in Secret World and other MMOs.

I played Ragnarok Online and I like how they did 3 kind of headgear available to equip at once:

    - Top (Hats, Bandanas, pins, ribbons, headbands)
    - Mid (Glasses, ears)
    - Lower (Cig, mouth piece, scarf)

I wish its possible for FFXIV too.
