As far as I'm concerned I suppose, that would fly on older trials with increased bird drop rates, namely Ravana through Sophia.
But with the abysmal base drop rate in Zurvan, that's where I draw the line. That screams loot n' scoot.

I've seen a Lootmaster pony farm saying "lootmaster to ensure everyone gets one". Seriously? You can't even roll on those if you have them already so everyone would get one anyway! Why on earth would anyone agree to not have an equal roll chance when they've contributed just as much as others and have no guarantee that the party stays intact? It's a total scam.
If the party is guaranteed to stay together, there is still no harm in letting everyone roll on a mount. The purpose of lootmaster had always more to do with gear distribution in statics where members may not be equally committed. Farming a mount however has no impact on progression.

Lootmaster farms are always a trap, don't join those parties so we can have them disappear as soon as possible. You can't trust a random person to keep their word and you can't assume people will want to farm for 8+ hours just for the other people to get their mounts.
I'd never join one. :/
I actually been to 2 of them and got my bird.
People tend to wait since they know their turn is coming.
It is okay to leave after you got your bird, new leader puts PF up again and we continue from where we stoped, same rules.

While I'm not in favour of those party, I also dont mind them that much - and I joined some in the past. Since we're having the token-system I'm fine with joining such a party once I got 60+ tokens since at that point my mind is set on busying the bird anyways and I'm not bothered with rolls that much anymore. If I can get a one-shot party, I'll gladly take that over one thats struggeling in phase 1 of [insert primal] - granted, the lootmaster-rule doesnt mean that its a good party, but if it turns out to suck, I'm out *cough*
So, reasons to join one: Not being that concerend about getting the bird (because I either have it or have almost enough tokens); light for my relic (by doing something that isnt AS1); points for my last tank-mount...
Don't like don't join, simple as that. If people feel like wasting their time with a party who cares? It's not as though random rolling works out any fairer, really, or magically bars someone from doing a loot-n-scoot.
I joined one for Bismark, got my bird, 6 others did too. It works if the leader is honest and the party dedicated. We had a couple salty fish join just to sabotage the group, and a couple others join who apparently weren't aware it was a lootmaster farm (despite the PF explicitly saying so), so there's that to watch out for.
Getting that 8th or 7th person though is tough. I think a good compromise would be to let the 8th person have first dibs on all other drops, 7th person 2nd dibs. That means you should get a lot of people joining those last spots just to get weapons/crafting mats/music without any real expectation of birds.
Obviously, Zurvan's drop rate is so low for birds Lootmaster just plain doesn't work. I hear pretty frequently people going a full 99 runs and not even seeing the bird drop once, let alone winning one.
Yeah i never join these, it's so easy for the party lead to get the bird and simply click disband.
I see a lot of "bird given out in order of join" but I think a lot of those don't really fill up all the way because no one wants to be in the ass end of one of those parties, especially since the whistles are a pretty rare drop and a lot of farm parties are hilariously inept at Soar if they can't skip.
I understand the logic behind it, but they don't really work in theory due to people getting their whistles and bailing, unless they really need or want the weapons.
