I Found That: Botanist V - Is this intended?

I am having this issue as well.
I recently (today) finished picking up folklore books. I went though the log page by page making sure everything had the yellow check mark next to it.
Got down to the Folklore, got all of the non-three star's gathered and boom ... 229/230
So I am thinking that something is amis.

I can confirm that you do not need any 3 star items to get the hatchet. Check your list again you must be missing something. I have the hatchet and these are the only folklore items you need. Have you been doing Zhloe? I think she opens up new gathering items if I'm not mistaken.

The Zhloe items do not count towards the achievement.

You can end up needing folklore items as shards, crystals, and clusters are only counted once. If you gathered them first on miner, they won't count for your botany achievement. I have both the hatchet and pickaxe.

I've got the same problem with miner, stuck on 149/150. I've poured over my gathering log line by line looking for something, anything, I've spent hours on this, but no, it's all ticked except the 3 star nodes. I raised a ticket and was told "There's definitely no bug! It's just a hard achievement and we don't give hints!"

I'm pretty sure it's this. I needed a couple 3 star for miner and didn't for botanist. So one or the other is going to need 3 star depending on which you got those shards, crystals, and clusters on first.

I'm starting to think this is the case too, but if it's designed that way intentionally then the game is pretty terrible at telling you that. I sure wish I could've chosen to get Miner without 3 stars instead of Botanist.

Maybe they could have reset them so you could choose which you wanted them to count toward. It's a bit odd. I had some things unchecked that I knew I had gathered in the past (especially things I routinely sent my retainers out for) so we know they can reset items.
