Thought he said in one of the recent interview, he knows that the players are tired of the same content cycle and they are planning something new for stormsblood.

I know he wants to release everything new in Stormblood, but some QoL changes would be nice to have in game ASAP.
I just worry his version of "new" is likely to be about as "inventive" as the prided FATEs were with ARR's release.
@OP: What are you actually looking for though? Just saying that current content is boring to you doesn't point out much of a direction by which to stop being boring, and what you've mentioned in alternative wouldn't necessarily be any different from the style of current content. Anything more specific?
Almost 4 years we have all these cycles. It means, that even a little changes in the period of cycles or changes in their length of life will be very positive for the players's minds. Also, the content can be droped for some years (for example till the next addon), and when it will return, players will be happy and meet it as new.@OP: What are you actually looking for though? Variants can be different. Right now we have some MAJOR kinds of content and this content live in a cycle (alliance raid, hardcore raid, 4-dungeons and another)
1) SE can try to change this MAJOR content more often. For example, we had Crystal Tower (raid alliance) in 2.x. In 3.x SE could change it for something new and in 4.x alliance raid would come back. Or we had 4-dungeons for roulette to farm tomestones- it is the MAJOR way. In 3.x SE could change it for another kind of activity
2) SE can try co make the cycles not predictable- make them shorter or longer
3) SE could more often create new types of content to fill the bigger cycles of the MAJOR content
4) Another variants
For example, Diadem. As we all can see, SE has no problem to admit, that the first version was a total failure and send Diadem for rework. I think, that Diadem can be a new MAJOR type of content, where SE can put many different types of the main cycle activities

What mass-player content is worth enough that it can replace a 24 man raid in your eyes?1) SE can try to change this MAJOR content more often. And what about the 8 man raid? Why should it not replaced with something else in one of the expansions?
This is how it should be. New stuff without throwing out the old stuff people expect to play.
