Also buying land is a way to sink gil out of the system, by reselling it youre cutting out the sinkThis is because the seller wants to make back the money they originally paid and maybe make a little profit, so they charge full price just to relinquish the land. Unfortunately for the buyer, they then also have to pay to purchase the plot, resulting in paying double the cost. So there is this perception that sellers are overcharging for housing but this is not the fault of the seller however.

Small Plot costs about what? 3 - 4,5 million? People want to have 20-30 million on Shiva/Odin just to abandon the plot.
SE needs to find a way to stop that mess. It's just ridiculous und really unfair!I simply don't have the time to make millions of gil, because I do have a real life and need to work and besides raiding and leveling my classes I can just find no way to gather SO much gil and I think I shouldn't have to, ever since the original price is 4 million! :<

You can take out the decorations, demolish, trade the build permit, have the new owner obtain the land and then make you a tenant so you can put the furniture back in. Very few items actually get permanently destroyed upon removal.

They really need to adopt a system like ESO just introduced. 40 different houses scattered across the land and each one is its own instance so everyone on the megaserver can buy it. This also allows everyone to buy all 40 houses if they really want. If they have a courtyard or yard period that is instanced too, since you enter through a gate and some are just the interiors. This allows manors outside city limits and smaller houses within and even small country homes. It's really sweet. And the most expensive one, which puts mansions in xiv to shame, is just under 4m. There are a few minor restrictions which xiv doesn't have, like the inability to change the walls/flooring, but there is more freedom of furniture placement. They took their time and did it right instead of rushing it out because ppl wanted a house right now.
