Dualshock 4 controller issue

dualshock 4 should be plug and play with xiv never had any software for it and it worked fine for a while. it just started like 2 weeks ago worked fine for over a year. USB port works fine with everything else. only change i did was switched out an old dualshock 4 with the new one that came with my PS4 PRO, which is not even 3 months old yet. i would use my old one but its very worn down buttons kind of sticky the touch pad stopped working etc

But does the old one work fine in terms of responsiveness despite its 'stickyness'?
If thats the case, then at least you can establish where the problem lies.

If not, then I wouldnt know immediately what the cause is.

hard to test quickly, as i can go hours without the issue occuring but i dont remember having it happen on the old one
