Stormblood Equipment Upgrade Request

For PLD, in 2.x, it was required to have two upgrade items to strengthen swords and shields. This was changed in 3.x, however you needed to have both the sword and the shield at the same time. For Stormblood, could we have the option to go utilize either upgrade path? It would be nice to not have to spend valuable weekly tomestones on equipment which will not be used to upgrade an item, such as the case for stat preferences of the Hellfire and Shire shields over their raid shield counterparts, while the swords were relatively undesirable.

No, the current system is better. PLD should have to spend the same amount as anyone else. Yes, I'm aware you're going to suggest other jobs spend either full price or nothing at all in similar scenarios to yours, but you know as well as I do that an overwhelming majority of PLDs purchase their tomestone weapons as early as possible anyway.

Considering parry is being "re-worked" in some fashion for 4.0, that should help eliminate some shields being undesirable over a tome or anima counterpart (Current BiS is Alex Blade + Relic/Shire shield)
