agreed i'd prefer a glamour dresser for my house over a market board. i mean i literally go to my house to mend and meld matiera really no reason to go to a city state^

Those who have access to housing are never far away from a market board. I would much rather they implement a glamour dresser because I have to port away from my home and to a city state to use one.
However, I think if a glamour dresser was as easy to make an indoor furnishing as an orchestrion, company chest, toy box, or journal (items we interact with that have sub menus) then we would already have one. I believe the constraint the devs have is that items stored in the glamour dresser still have to retain all its data (level/job requirements, stats, dyeable/crest, all that freakin jazz). If we did get one, I believe load times into our houses would drastically increase, and only get worse if it gets expanded upon.
Going back to the MB, when I initially read the subject I thought the OP was only going to ask for a non-functional MB for decoration. While I initially thought, "What's the point in that?" when I think about it more, it actually would be pretty cool and I bet they'd have a clever description of it too xD
I'm not sure if someone mentioned this or not but I agree, a fully functioning Market board is bad... but what if we could just see the prices and not actually buy form it.
When I'm decorating my FC house I would like to quickly know if something is way out of my price range or not. As it is now I use the "Preview housing Items" menu, find something I like, and then have to load outside run to the boards and check.. It would be nice if I could at the very least just check the prices.

Think this is exactly what he said about the Glamour Dresser in player owned houses:^

Yoshi P: "In terms of having a furnishing item… there’s a scary amount of item data connected to it. Something like a glamour dresser has a few hundred items associated with it. With furnishing items, you can move it around, or someone else can move it around… it’s very dangerous and risky and very unstable to have an item like that for you to place in your own personal housing.
I’m sure with the convenience of moving around normal furnishings, or having retainers available, or having the ability to access market boards, it’s logical to think, “why can’t we have it as an item?” but the engineering behind that, having the items taken out, but suddenly not having it there, or having other people affect the location of the dresser…. we have to be very careful in working on that. That’s why we can’t just have it available as a furnishing item or something that can be readily placed."

I'm assuming it would have the same or worse issues than the glamour dresser does, so I doubt it would come anytime soon.

Have you worked with their exact system? Have you been a part of the Dev team? Do you know someone on the Dev team?
Otherwise I'm dubious of your claims.
Why do they want you to keep coming to inns?
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?

Game code is weird.
The City of Heroes reboot servers have access to the base code of that game and found that its impossible to open their auction house in an instance, which means you cant have a supergroup base that has a way to access the auction house. Theres waaaaay too much work that would have to go in for something that saves ~45 seconds.
I dont doubt that theres something stupid like that in the 1.0 code theyre using for some of these things. We know that the game cant pull certain information in instances or on other servers, theres a greater than 0% chance housing insides have something preventing x, y, or z.

A bit late to the party but I was googling the same thing and ended up here. Would love my own market board on my estate. Too bad, have to mount up and go down the road, which isn't terrible, but inconvenient all the same![]()
