It's simply not a big enough market, so no, you don't deserve anything. If they do any other new servers/data centers it's more likely to be a West Coast US one.

And let's not even talk about how a lot of the latency problems probably stem more from the poor infrastructure in Australia than anything else.
Actually, several years ago Blizzard looked seriously at setting up an Australian server for WOW but in the end abandoned it in the face of what they considered greedy demands from Aussie ISPs to handle the traffic .. I believe Telstra were one of those cited.

I'm not happy with it, nor am I in other games I play, It stops me from playing the harder content, but I just resign myself to accepting that is the way it is.
While I would love an AU/NZ server, I don't think it would work this late in the games life, how many that have made friends elsewhere would be willing to dump that to move back to an local server? I remember Pirates of the Burning Sea tried and Star Wars the Old Republic as well, and both ended in failures from just not enough people.
It says you're on Tonberry, how is the latency there? I heard it was the best you can get from Australia, but still bad?

Use a tunneling service that will re-route your connection. WtFast, Pingzapper- programs like these. It won't help you if you're on console, but it's something to consider if you're playing on PC. As much as it sucks, I doubt there's a large enough population of AUS players that would warrant setting up an entire new server just for you (which might not even help).

Wonder how well they could make latency standardized in certain party compositions lol. Could make the "laggers raiding party" hehe, SE could find the average latency to a threshold and set that as the response time/delay to many things - so it would be less of an issue without actually moving servers. Concerned there would be a way to abuse it though, some cheats are made around similar (less team oriented) ideas.

Wc3 had a mod you could utilize as host to find a standard delay make it appear consistent for everyone (so long as the difference wasn't that big), was really helpful on high response maps with custom hosts.

The way FF14's game mechanics work, 300-400 or less latency is irrelevant. And if you have more than 300, that's an issue you have to take up with your ISP, not SE.

Not always an option for more rural based players, or even players in rural classed cities, given the line quality in most areas. Considering a lot of people are still stuck on the old copper unless you're in a big city it's just not viable. Other ISPs beyond Telstra all still loaning the lines directly from Telstra, so it's infrastructure issues not solely base ISP.

I have mixed latency. Anytime I see the connection read on log-in flick to excellent I can guarantee I will have dropped inputs, lag, and even DCs. Friend I have in AU who is outer-suburb of a big city has same issues despite better lines out there.

I wouldn't move servers from where I am, have too much attachment, but it would be nice if there was some more of a buffer to help out even tho' it'll never happen.

Convince more aussies to play, in reality there isn't a large enough demographic, they could do an oceanic server perhaps but that would depend on the population of the other countries that encompass that.

I don't want an Oceanic server. Access to the JP data center and it's level of competency is worth the added latency imo.

Nothing worse than seeing an all E party in duty finder.
