That only applies to level 50 and level 60 dungeons - and for those there are vendors, where you can buy superior gear than that that drops in the dungeons for tomes (that you'll get either way from the run). So, yeah... if you want to gear up a second job you'll eventually do it with tome/alex gear anyways. You dont need the dungeon drops - at leats not more than a person trying to gear up their (main?) job by getting them for GC seals.

In the case of gearing up an alt, say something then. If you tell me your trying to gear a Bard/MCH I am more inclined to pass than need/greed unless I need it myself for glamour or use. Granted not everyone will gladly pass for you but those who are nice may be willing but we are not mind readers. If you say something after I need on it I am just gonna laugh and say you should have said something.

if you want it but don't want to feel greedy greed it then everyone has a equal chance to get it? or ask if someone desperately wants it. most people will say if there after certain items

You can usually tell at a quick glance if somebody is in need of a particular drop. If you're going as a BRD/MCH and the other DPS is a BRD/MCH then it's easy enough to judge whether they're in need of the upgrade based on their health compared to your own.

It's a pretty insensitive move to roll on a piece of gear to trade it in for seals when there's somebody in the group who is clearly in need of the gear to increase their item level. Nobody can stop you doing it but there's likely to be justified grumbling as a consequence - and I, for one, believe that karma is a thing.

I greed pretty much everything that drops, unless it's upgrade or specific piece of glamour that I must have.

It does sometimes irk me when people needroll things they don't actually need for use. (I'm gearing 4 offclasses simultaneously and never get the appropriate drops when playing on the class specifically, so you might understand why it's getting annoying.)
An easy way around this is saying at the start "Hey, I badly need GC seals for my relic, so I'll roll need on everything I can. If you really want something for an offclass just let me know before rolling, so I can greed/pass instead."

I roll greed on every drop, unless someone asks for it. Then it becomes a pass. Same for rolls that I can need on, especially if I'm hurting for seals or leveling up desynth.
