PS4: Fan becomes quite loud during play

As the title reads, the fan starts becoming rather loud on my PS4 when playing FF14.

Now I only started playing on Januari 25th this year, but I did not experience these fan sounds the first few days.
The last two days it sounds like its about to lift off at times.

Is this typical for FF14 on PS4?
Or would you rather believe this to be a dusty fan or something?

My PS4 is from 2015, and has never been opened.

Yeah, the same happened with my PS4. The fan didn't make much noise when playing other games (not online) and as soon as I started FFXIV, the fan was very noisy.

I had to open the PS4 and clean it (there was quite a bit of dust in there). Since then, it's much less noisy.

Sounds like my PS4 is a box fan, yup I have the same problem.

Much less as in, just the mild woosh it usually makes?

Opening the console usually voids the warranty, FYI. But it does sound like dust in the heatsinks, or otherwise poor ventilation around the console.

FFXIV is a pretty intense game by console hardware standards, though.

Mine is from 2015, warranty has already expired (un)fortunately.

I can imagine FF14 being quite intense for PS4's.
Initially it seemed much quieter though, perhaps opening my console will show me if something is amiss.

Wondering if other PS4 users have different experiences?

I have a cooling fan for my PS4, it seems to help with the fan noise after a while. There are still times, such as cut scenes with intense graphics that will make the fan make more noise. From what I can tell, the noise is no different than other games I play. This is just from my experience however.

Alright, judging by the responses from fellow PS4 users, the amount of noise produced from my console currently is excessive.

I am surely hoping my maintenance later tonight will resolve any of the noise issues i am experiencing.
