So after getting them all leveled to 50 and being able to complete most missions when do the items they bring back get any better? I am tired of the useless (for the most part) scrolls.
I thought they eventually brought back scrolls and such?

Now sure if there's something specific about it. But after an 18hr mission there's a chance of 1 to 4 of your members getting a new chemistry bonus. Anything from 10 - 40% chance of bringing back gil crafting clusters mgp blue crafter gather scrips. ***make sure to activate the chemistry bonus from the squadron list*** you also have to meet the condition required by the chemistry. Mission affinity becomes important at this point as you can turn a 10% chance into a 100% chance under the right conditions
You need to check the squadron chemistry to get different items, see board on the wall, roster.
All but 1 of my members has a chance to bring back DoL or DoH materia (it's always been a random grade 4) under the right circumstances. Chemistry can also allow them to bring back gatherer or crafter scripts, gold saucer points, books that allow a member to change class, or might just increase the squads stats.
However, from what I have seen it looks like the squadron doesn't get what high level retainers can come back with if that is what you are looking for.
Keep sending out your squad members until they get a desirable chemistry bonus. Crystal clusters, contemporary warefare (magic, offense, defense), and bonus to stats are the least desirable, while the ones most players shoot for are gil, seals, material IVs, and blue scrips. Take note that you cannot get blue scrip chemistry if you do not have access to blue scrips.
After you have the desired chemistry bonus for some/all of your squad members, then you will want to send the squad out for the level 40 priority mission which can only be done once per week, and resets on Tuesday. Before sending them out, you will want to take advantage of the affinity bonus to get those 10-40% chance values up to 100%. You will want to do the one that offers three bonuses, and choose the appropriate squad members and/or class. If you don't have a matching class, then use a contemporary warefare manual to change the class of one of your members.
After you have the squad and classes ready to go, train them if necessary to meet 2/3 of the attribute requirements (not possible to hit all 3 for lv40 priority missions), send them out and then wait. If for some reason the mission is a failure, just send them back out.
Hope this helps ^^
Honestly, keep stockpiling those scrolls, if they're useless now, having a stack of 50 will help quite a bit with leveling on Stormblood launch.
I've got 50 Squadron Survival Manuals and 25 Squadron Engineering Manuals hoarded for that so far. Can't see anything wrong with 2 hour buffs of 20% exp![]()
