[Dev Request] How about Ascian/Garlean Armor?

Update: During the Live Letter, they said glamours would only be added to the mogstation if people would show enough support to buy said items. Also it's still a factor it could be added in game as a quest reward. Please spread the word and like the thread for more Garlean and Ascian themed/inspired armors for players to wear!

So, it's been circulating that the Heavensward Knights armor for both the casters and the melee have been added as has all their weapons. They aren't available yet in the game, but they are listed there in the files.

Seeing as how the Heavensward and Thordan were the main enemies to the end of the 3.0 patch; why is it that we haven't received Ascian garb yet? Or Garlean enemy armor for that matter? 2.0's main villains were the Ascians and the Garleans teaming up. The Ascian's continued to play a major role throughout the 2.x patch series and continued to do so into 3.4. While we have seen no Ascians; that I remember, in 3.5, I'm sure they are still there to pull strings.


A request I have is to make Ascian and Garlean attire for those of us on the RP oriented servers and those who are fans of their respected villains.

I understand that the potential of having the current overlords/emissary masks of the Ascians may be a bit too much; but we've seen in cutscenes that they aren't always wearing these masks nor choose to have their hoods up. You could introduce a hoodless/maskless robe along with the gauntlets, boots and pants and then make a head slot option to include the hood and /or mask as a /visor option.

The Ascian models themselves look to be just normal midlanders so far with what we've seen of Igeyorhm, Pashtarot, and Nabriales all having hairstyles/facial options available to players. So is it safe to assume that these costumes are also currently made available for players to wear if they were to be introduced as a glamour?

I only request this, as being on Balmung, we have players willingly taking up the roles of NPC's which is one of the many aspects of our community that makes it so lively and fun to be a part of. I'm sure the many people who play the Heavensward are excited to soon be able to dress the part, You've even obliged to give the more hero type NPC's armor to players, but what about our Garleans and Ascian NPC roleplayers? Can they receive some much needed love with their armors being introduced as wearable by players?

As a side note; the armor doesn't have to be an exact replica of armors worn by both Ascians and Garleans but something remotely similar or themed would be just as acceptable.

There's a ton of more mundane npc-exclusive outfits we need before we need every wannabe Garlean walking around in recolored Legatus armor. Even before that, some garb used by the soldiers should come first (another undercover operation in the questline would be a good way to give us such a thing in 4.0). Sometimes things that are exclusive can stand to stay exclusive. Garlemald isn't "been there done that" like The Heaven's Ward are, nor are the Ascians. Wait until they've been vanquished to beg to dress like them.

Neither were the scions, yet there is their armor in the cash shop. But there are some NPC's in both the Garlean and Ascian faction who have been vanquished. I'm also not begging, it's a simple request in hopes of being considered?

I'm thoroughly convinced he likes to disagree with every suggestion and idea posted as well as over exaggerate the intent of the person making said request to the point of rediculous hilarity for the sake of it. Pay him no mind. I'm in full support of this. I'd love to dress like an Ascian!

In all seriousness we'll likely get it when we head into the empire proper, I'm still bumbed that the garlean set we did get remains incomplete but i see no reason why we won't get the centurion set later in game, maybe even in stormblood if we're lucky.
The last thing I want is to give us some custom adventurer version, i just want the standard centurion set, no altered version pls. It is one of the best looking armor sets and it doesn't have some lame leg skirt like every heavy armor set worth a damn.

The same could be said for the Heavens Ward's armor and yet it's being added. We also have one Garlean outfit that we got from 2.X content so your argument can be made invalid. If you'd like to add something that has more valid reasoning behind your decision such as Enur's posts, then perhaps we can have a more reasonable discussion. But what you've posted doesn't really validate anything other than "It bad, can't have it, nope."

That's what I was thinking. The game tries to keep to the lore and warrior of light is a hero. We aren't allowed to look like villains.
