[Dev Request] How about Ascian/Garlean Armor?

In all seriousness we'll likely get it when we head into the empire proper, I'm still bumbed that the garlean set we did get remains incomplete but i see no reason why we won't get the centurion set later in game, maybe even in stormblood if we're lucky.
The last thing I want is to give us some custom adventurer version, i just want the standard centurion set, no altered version pls. It is one of the best looking armor sets and it doesn't have some lame leg skirt like every heavy armor set worth a damn.

Odin is not a major villain. He is a FATE that spawns every couple of hours with some interesting lore. I doubt we will see him again, some things are better left a mystery. We don’t need answers to everything.

I'm just pointing out that you can't bring lore into this regarding not being able to wear Legatus armor when we can dress as Odin with Zanketsuken and nobody could care less.

The same could be said for the Heavens Ward's armor and yet it's being added. We also have one Garlean outfit that we got from 2.X content so your argument can be made invalid. If you'd like to add something that has more valid reasoning behind your decision such as Enur's posts, then perhaps we can have a more reasonable discussion. But what you've posted doesn't really validate anything other than "It bad, can't have it, nope."

In all fairness if this situation had any sense of realism, pretty much any weapons and armour infantry have on them would be looted by the eorzeans due to the quality and rarity of such equipment.

Thank you again for not just saying "No I don't like it, it shouldn't happen, it's a bad idea." You bring up some valid points in your argument against this.

I think though you misunderstood my statement in saying that Ascians may be walking among us as NPC's we see everyday. When I say this I don't mean they're in their traditional garb walking around. I mean that they disguise themselves in a normal wardrobe to monitor and blend in with modern society. I'm unsure if you did the 50-60 SMN story, but an Ascian had been possessing a dead person and they weren't wearing their traditional garb, simply a black hooded cowl.

I don’t think I misunderstood anything. You repeat here that the ascians we saw were “wearing” the corpses to not look like ascians. That’s the whole point. Even the ascians don’t want to look like ascians. If they are obvious ascians they would get attacked. Which is why I am against this in the first place. Players who would wear this would be able to enter cities, looking like ascians, therefore breaking the lore by not getting shunned by everyone. Only the desperate allows ascians near them.

In canon lore, yes our character is the warrior of light, but it's also been mentioned by NPC's that we are not the only Warrior of Light in the realm. It even shows this in cutscenes with many random NPC's and your character floating/flying around the crystal of light to give an emphasis that we are not the only one out there.

A: In one of the early quests, you see other people in the aetherial realm flying around the Mothercrystal. Who are they? Other adventurers?
KF: Yeah, the Mothercrystal talks to many people. You’re the Warrior of Light, but she has to have other options. Not everyone is Warrior of Light material and there are lots of other things going on.

The line and purpose of the Heavens Ward was absolved when Ishgard came back into the Eorzean Alliance. There will be no one else to take up the mantle and thus the armor will no longer be in use by any of Ishgard.

As I said, yes the heavens ward is gone. But the guy who now has the power to order the designs of their armor (classical ishgardian knight dyed white and blue mind you. Its just a dye.) is your best friend in the city. Surely the guy who is essentially the leader of the city would be able to order some of the traditional armor for you. If not for show of craftsmanship then to break the traditions that had plagued the city for so many years.

While true Balmung created initiatives are non canon, most of them do abide by lore and the events that take place in the game. Not everyone on Balmung plays their character as a warrior of light. A number of people play normal characters who do not have the echo or are in no way connected directly to Hydaelyn. WE do have Garleans who roam the streets openly admitting to who they are. These characters are accepted as defectors of their nation due to many reasons. For example the defeat of the Garlean leaderships from 2.X and seeing as how it's either surrender or die. Not all who surrender are to be put to death.

I am fully aware that many people choose to roleplay their character as something other than the warrior of light. And that is fine. But their actions are as a whole, non-canon.
In the canon we have two examples of garlean deserters: Cid and Lucia, both of whom have had to either hide their identity or undergo strong alliances with the leaders. Garlean deserters, if caught by the guards would most likely get taken for interrogation and/or torture. Especially if it was an Ala Mhigan refugee gone guard who caught the rat.

Your other points I did not touch on or make a response to are very valid reasons and such I won't address them, please don't take this as me ignoring them.
