The monk hype refers to their performance in Feast specifically not Frontlines. Frontlines pretty much all jobs are viable because of how many people there are to mask any flaws and deficiencies but in Feast you can really notice the difference between the 3 melees. Monk > Dragoon >>> Nin. And most people agree that in Feast melee holds the most carrying power. In frontlines it's the ranged that get the most kills per match anyway since it's much easier to play and much safer than melee unless you have a pocket heal.Whats with the Monk hype? sure its good job in PvP but its not "IWIN" button, i havent really encountered many good monks in PvP. Most gets eaten alive when rolling on WAR and even PLD can take them out easily. Best starter melee job in PvP would be WAR as it has awesome toolkit and its rather simple to play, with all CD's you can tank up to 8 players and still escape and survive.
how is monk op? and what makes monk op i dont understand just recently started as monk on feast currently silver rank any tips or information or what playstyle shud i have as a monk ?
Fist of Earth, 3sec stun and high frequently burst also you can pacify/silences/remove buffs.
Fists of Earth make a lot of difference, it's like a permanent defence buff and it makes monk harder to kill than drg/nin. Traited Second Wind and Featherfoot also provide better survival options. One Ilm Punch is great for removing all enemy damage/healing buffs, and 8 second Silence spam can obliterate most of healers.
Fetter Ward before LB = OP
