Controller becoming unresponsive periodically

Controller on Windows is still broken, especially after Windows 10 Anniversary Update last year.

Dear SE, please don't ignore this again, it's been way too many years.

Brief explanation: game client for Windows constantly checks if any new gamepads connects and if any new device connected/disconnected – game controls freeze for a moment.
At the same time Windows has a lot of devices in Device Manager, including Software Devices, from time to time Windows connects/disconnects them.
Together it leads to losing control in game (buttons don't work and you keep moving in same direction uncontrollable) and it may happen pretty often, like once per 10-30 minutes.

While I feel this forum doesn't get looked at, I am having this problem as well and trust me when I say the controller going during raids is really annoying me >.<

Its worth saying for any developers reading this I have tried pretty much every fix people posted online raging from turning off the USB sleep stuff, reinstalling drivers, different USB ports, different controller etc with no luck.

Same issue recently. I've tried 3 different controllers and they all do it. just randomly dies for a few seconds or sometimes freezes the last input. if I'm moving when it freezes then my character will keep running till the controller starts responding again. has killed me a few times
