New pally looking for gear advice (Savage)

I have been told many things in game about gearing and stat builds but everyone seems to contradict what others have said, for instance i was told i need over 700 accuracy as a tank since i will be generally hitting from the front but then i was also told anything over 600 is a waste, I was told parry is useless by one person but others have said i should cap out on it, yet i cant find anything that says any of this offline neither can i find anything recent on stat caps so, is there any resources out there for builds and stat caps for Savage level content that is trusted?

Also it seems like min/maxing isnt that big of a deal in this game and sometimes it comes down to playstyle but it is something i enjoy doing and would appreciate any help, What are some of your builds and how do you weigh the stats?

    Thanks

700 is the accuracy required for a tank. It's the accuracy cap from the front for savage content. The 600 number is what you're hearing for dps/off healers melding accuracy.

Parry doesn't stack properly in this game at the time and the devs are going to rework it for 4.0 or remove it entirely. So a parry build is not considered best in slot.

    This is my build: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/9204688/

    * I've already cleared and farmed through A11S so this may not be helpful for you. But it shows you the type of build to be shooting for in the current endgame meta.

My PLD/DRK co-tank uses an almost identical build, barring weapon differences.

Here are latest PLD stat weights (from Dervy):
    • STR: 1.000
    • VIT: 1.000
    • WD: 26.523
    • DET: 0.396
    • CRT: 0.541
    • Sw/Oath SS: 0.274
    • Sh/Oath SS: 0.330
Parry is useless because it doesn't increase your damage in any way.

You can use Ariyala's to plan your gear sets, the site uses Dervy's stat weights and you can include food to your calculations. As said, you need 700 accuracy.

Basically what Bounddreamer linked is BiS for Pld you wanna shoot for that I have 680 accuracy but with priestly omlettes puts me at exactly 700 for raiding content which is fine because I have an alt food specialist that I make like 5 priestly omlettes a day. You need 700 accuracy for all content whether you get it from food or you have more than you need that's fine until you achieve your true BiS, yes min maxing isn't super strict in this game as it's mostly highest ilvl is better.

For example the Shire tank chestpiece is accuracy sks but it's the best you can get till A12S as even with the added parry on the tank chest it's still superior with the crit aded onto it. The way you wanna gear yourself though (and this is if you're clearing A9S-A10S repeatedly) is:

    1) Belt (that thing is Crit Det a MUST have)
    2) Boots (if your hurting for accuracy gloves first)
    3) Gloves
    4) Accessories: A9S Fending ring, Shire Bracelet, Shire Earrings, A9S Fending Neck, A9S Slaying ring (if you can get away with it)

Now if you're clearing A11S then obviously weapon comes first as Zurvan EX sword is reallly terrible but the shield is good (CRIT/DET) So if you have the Shire Sword use it with the ZEX shield. In terms of accessories though Slaying Ring is better than Augmented Shire ring by a small margin 0.35% you lose HP but gain more 17 crit, and 40 Det which outweighs the loss of the Vit and the parry on the ring. It's also worth noting that the Fending Neck gives a ton of accuracy and it's only real synergy is with the A12S chestpiece so while gearing up the Augmented Shire Fending neck is a good alternative until you get those as it's Det/Sks and removes a lot of wasted accuracy.

For a starter you should get as much ilvl as possible. Min max comes later.

Acc > Crit > Det > SkS. Prioritize Crit over anything else even in meld. If you dont want to use food, aim for 700++ Acc. I keep missing in Zurvan because of 680 Acc and I don't want to use food, generally good to have a set that allows you to hit at cap in case if you dont want to waste food.

The BiS with all i270 is all over the forum reddit etc.
