Question: What constitutes an item that can be added to your wardrobe?

Hey all - I was going through my inventory and retainers a few days ago and got to thinking about what can be added to the wardrobe. Is there a symbol on an item that lets you know?

Also I understand how cosmetic items work now (someone was kind enough to explain it to me,) but was wondering if there has been any recent discussion on improving it? I don't see a problem with using items to bind something to you, I guess I just wish I had the option to change whatever look I had through the wardrobe. I'd prefer to keep my retainers space available for crafting mats and gear I might use on another job that I level.

Any info someone could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

no there really isn't a symbol that denotes "this can be put in the wardrobe" unfortunately. People have been wanting a "glamour book/log" for ages, but the way the system is setup it can't do that. Let the devs know tho maybe they'll put resources towards it someday.

I do hope the work they'll do on storage servers before StormBlood is also a way to say that they will make the development of a galmour book doable.

The thing that confuses me most is how some items that you can store in the armoire are repurchasable from the calamity salvager/recompense officer, making the armoire kind of redundant for those items. But not everything that's storable can be repurchased. I can store my hermes shoes which were a reward in 1.0 for being subscribed to FFXI and FFXIV, but if I toss them I can't rebuy them they're just gone forever. But then other special items like things bought from the mog station or the maid outfit can't be reobtained from the calamity salvager or stored.
