    Personal Character Miniature

Can we get a feature that allows players to copy a character (their own, someone else, or monster) and frozen pose in the /gpose feature and save it to be used on a crafted "Personal Miniature".

The "Personal Miniature" would be a blank base that is used similar the other Miniatures in the game. The player would then place the base in a house and then you can select a saved character from the /gpose feature. When selected that saved character/pose would appear scaled down like the other Miniatures in the game.

Oh my, this is such an awesome idea. I am all for this. I would love to see a miniature of my character in her Santa suit.

... But then again, a miniature of a Lalafell would be pretty small, wouldn't it?

Innocence doesn't mean an absence of wickedness, nor is it represented by the absence of anger or hatred. Innocence is when seeing others hurt also hurts you. When one becomes blind to the people suffering in the world, that is what it means to have lost one's innocence.

Problem with that is that it would require the game to save each of these unique models, which takes up resources. It would be cool if they could do it, but SE is already struggling with resources for housing.

I thought that to be a similar case but that's not to say that sort of implementation isn't in the game already- You can currently dress your retainer as you wish then stick that retainer in FC yard with said saved gear that anyone else can view. So -technically- this function is currently already being done and saved/displayed, they would just need to scale the character, rip bone data and turn dynamics off if it was going to not move.

Of course its is still resources, but my hope is 4.0 with the drop of PS3 support we'll see that change and something like this could be implemented.

Because would I love to get my hands on figures of my friends @w@!

We already have this with retainers in your yard. Its still models that game already has. So nobody needs to download anything and no other resources should be taken. For me, its the same thing.

EDIT: I just noticed that Nariko already answered. Sorry.

I see what you're saying, but there are differences between retainers and custom miniatures.

First, the retainers use models and gear that are already present in the game, which should be limiting their footprint. Granted, you're customizing their appearance, but all options already exist. Keep in mind too, that you're only given three, and have to pay extra per month for any extra you want--I assume because of the resources they take up.

For miniatures, they would have to replicate all gear and character models at that scale, which would take space, and then be able to save however many per player they allowed, which is more. It would hog resources pretty quick.

Granted, I'm not a game designer, but it's kind of the same as in relational databases.

There is the Mini debuff in the game that can be used on your character and you scale down. Now think of that but you character is frozen in animation. It doesn't require them to make specific models for every single variation, this is already completely possible for them to do, similar to adding another player or npc to the screen just without movement.

If they want it to look more like a Miniature they can apply shaders to it as well which they've done before with Petrify and Frozen effects ( they would need to make a new shader for this situation though).

I like this idea. Since this thread has an official response asking for ideas Miniatures again perhaps it would be a good idea to post it there, as well.
