FFXIV x Zodiac Age

Stormblood is set to release June of this year, about a month later Final Fantasy XII: Zodiac Age is released. As we know the 24 man raid for Stormblood is "Return to Ivalice", a raid series themed after Final Fantasy Tactics. Ivalice is also the setting for FFXII.

Do you think we'll see a collaboration event for the release of Zodiac Age?

Actually, I'm starting to think Return to Ivalice might actually be related to XII's Ivalice. Someone mentioned that a writer for XII was working alongside the XIV team for the raid. I'm also starting to wonder if the two existing is a situation of just all aboard the hype train, or because they have something to lead in with.

It is yes. FFXII, the tactic games, vagrant story, and soon XIV, are all a part of the same Ivalice.

No-no, they are of the same Ivalice, but they're in different time periods. You'd be seeing a much different setting depending on what state of Ivalice they are basing it on.

I wouldn't get your hopes up, we didn't learn anything about void ark until a few months after 3.0s release. Them teasing return to ivalice is likely for nostalgia hype rather than the intent of giving us follow up information any time soon. I expect info and concept art in the first live letter of 4.0 and no sooner.

The Sunken Temple of Quarn makes me think it's a throwback to Miriam temple, you even fight the Miriam facers and the Miriam Guardian as boss just renamed as Adjudicator.

We still have no word about the FFXV collab and that has been out for months already AND is announced to definitely get a collab.
Better not get your hopes up, or if we actually get one for the FFXII re-release, expect it much further down the line :x

FFXV has only recently been released. They have said that, to make a proper collaboration, those characters need some time to sink properly into the minds of players and developpers.

On the other hand, everybody fully knows FF XII already, so all those references and easter egg will easily resonate. They could design a quest where you have to tell every passer-by to not believe Zenos' lies because you're captain Van Baelsar !
