No, the point is even if it changes people can override it regardless. Your suggestion has no meaning. The icons both mean not responsive to the game. I.e. Afk. They both may or may not be there if someone is afk. This is the case whether the afk or the camera icon is prioritized. Your suggested change therefore changes nothing.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Even if someone chooses to disable the AFK or Camera Mode icons, for those who don't the meaning should still be clear. Otherwise, what's the point of having two separate icons in the first place? They mean the same thing to you, apparently.

I think you're also not understanding what I'm saying, or perhaps you don't understand how the Camera Mode icon works. With my suggested change, the Camera Mode icon would only activate when manually using /gpose. In most cases, people only take pictures for a few minutes and will be available again very shortly. AFK as I said earlier could mean a few minutes or it could be hours. All I want is for that difference to be made clear. I think it's much more important and useful to be able to see if someone is AFK than if they're using the camera, especially the idling camera.

+1 to OPs suggestion. As a person who regularly uses /icam just to look around because I'm bored, or if I'm in a city and want to see if there's any bots underground (yes I do this to report them), I would appreciate other people being able to tell if I'm actually AFK or not. I don't want people to ignore me because of this foolish notion that camera = afk. Likewise I use idle camera for my auto-afk because it's nice to keep moving images on my screen (in the event I forget to turn monitor off, or am away longer than expected) to help prevent image burn, and I don't want people messaging me while I'm legit afk because of the foolish notion that no AFK chair = at keyboard. Perhaps I'm just this weird internet unicorn that doesn't want people wasting their time because what used to be a cut and dry chair = afk is now an ambiguous camera icon for many players. Obviously a minor oversight by the dev team, and 100% reasonable to request a former level of normalcy.

And you're missing that the camera icon is not only used in conjunction with /gpose. A whole lot of other changes would have to take place to icon display in order for your suggestion to actually work the way you want it to. E.g. disabling the ability to turn off the afk and camera icons even if their situation would apply, disable the use of the camera icon for when using the idling camera, etc. Your idea only works in the very specific instance where you know exactly what your friends' afk and idling settings are and using that information to determine what the icon means. But take out that information on what their settings are, and you have no clue what the icon actually means for a given situation whether before or after your suggested change. This is not agreeing to disagree. This is a failure of logic. One cannot deduce that someone is or is not afk from either the afk icon or the camera icon, whether before or after your suggested change.

What? You're making this way more complicated than it needs to be. Having the Camera Mode icon display for people in the idle camera in the first place benefits exactly 0 people. Even if someone has manually typed /icam, the auto-AFK should eventually change their status so you know they're actually not there.

Literally all they would have to do is have the Camera Icon only display for /gpose and not the idle camera. Then AFK = they auto-AFKed or they set themselves manually, and Camera Mode = they manually typed /gpose.

See, this was not your suggestion.

You're right, that wasn't my original suggestion in the OP (which would also be a simple fix: AFK status should always take priority over Camera Mode). I should probably fix up the OP a bit, my bad.

However, after having seen other replies in this thread and having a few days to think about it some more, this was another option I first posted way back in post #35. So if what you're implying is that you don't disagree with this new suggestion, we've been arguing over nothing all day.

I may be the weirdo, but I have to agree with the OP simply on the grounds of not understanding why we even need to know when a player is taking screenshots of their new gear to post on tumblr, whereas knowing whether or not someone is afk is actually pertinent information.
